That Motor Trend sketch is ugly and I remember it well. My friend from school thought it was "tight" and I thought it looked like a hideous ricy Saturn-ish piece of junk.

that car looks like an SN95 with a facelift... like the real '05 much better
Exactly. However, I did and still do like that sketch quite a bit. But again, for a facelift, not a redesign.

Man, that pic brings back memories of when this all started. 2005 seemed like an eternity away. Its REALLY scary to realize how long and far this has all come.

I hope you're serious.....cause I think we should have continued the Probe instead of the Cougar. It would have been a totally different market than the mustang.

Uh...No!

Well, actually, if Ford made this thing a four door they could go in competition with the accord, Acura TSX, etc. But then again, its just a stupid idea. :nono:

I agree with you Dan the cougar should have been called the probe ...and cougar should be built useing the 2005 mustang platform, createing another rear wheel drive mid-size muscle car with those that want more luxury with sportyness.

Well, the Mercury Messenger could one day take the Mustang platform to a new, upgraded place...

Except for the zigzag lines on the headlights, it looked amazing in person. (which means we'll never see it, I know)

I believe it was determined to be photochops, there was a silver one and a blue one if I remember correctly... maybe somebody can post them.

I agree, I think they should of continued the Probe, I used to own one when I was in college. I also agree that it's not even in the same class as the Mustang, it would compete more with the Eclipse and Celica. Put a good V6 in the GT version and you would have a Japanese compact sports car killer.

I always thought Ford should have put the Falcon's I6 Turbo into the Mustang.
