Lost My ETA

Called to check on where my Vert is, they called the ramp. They told me there is a shortage of rail cars and they don't know when they will be getting enough to ship all the cars in the yard. I asked if my car was on any kind of hold, she said no, but they had 3000 cars on hold for one reason or another and that's what caused the back up in the yard. Now they have all these cars released from holds and nothing to ship them on. She said I no longer have an ETA date. Anyone else hear about this shortage of rail cars?

LOL thats so true Greg
But for Jeffs question ...and from what I have been told that this is correct .Because my car did not show up in the origional E.T.A. time the new car sales manager that I am dealing with got a hold of the divisional sales manager last week and told me the same thing that the rail yard is backed up with all the cars that were on quality hold that were just released (mine was one of them) and that the best guess for a delivery day from him was mid march for me up here in Canada. If you add it up for a rough guess thats a 4 week wait ....I hope you get your car soon as much as I would like to get mine.

Still waiting 17 weeks after I ordered. It was built Jan. 21. Still no ramp code. I guess it's too much to ask for that the cars be shipped out in an order resembling when they were made. On the bright side (and that is a relative term) my dealer told me that a truck that came in last week had a GT for another dealer on it. At least some cars are apparently being shipped to my area.

That is what happened to mine, they said it had sat there for two weeks, finally left on the 28th via some etx rail car or something, should have by weekend.

My dealer said she called Ford today and the car is on a railcar somewhere between Ohio and North Carolina. But she said they didn't tell her a railcar number, which she said worried her because they always tell her this. She said she was going to call them tomorrow and double check.

Oh man, you must be walking or something. Try to hang on if you can; call on the kindness of friends and family if you must, but wait for the car you ordered if at all possible. Hopeuflly they won't push you back . Good luck.

My Vert built 2/16 is sitting around also. Got the same info, except the dealer is so close to Flat Rock MI, the car should be going convoy. No holds listed on car and no car. I am about to lose it with Ford. What a way to run a car company!!!
No wonder they are having a bad year. 3000 units times $29,000 = 87 mil in unpaid invoices.
