Been lurking here for a while for info on S197 converts. I'm looking for a V6 5M convert - they're hard to find, lemme tell ya. I've found a bunch of V6 autobox verts on Ebay and Optimum Autos (dime a dozen) but did find a M/T '06 on Craigslist and another on Ebay for a reasonable price. The local dealer has a bunch of used 05-08 converts but wants stupid money for them (imagine!)

Besides the hood corrosion issue I've read about here, are there any other issues with the V6 S197 cars that I should know about? I plan on buying a Ford ESP for whatever car I do end up with. Also interested in some minor mods like a Hurst shifter, K&N air cleaner and rims. I had a '93 LX 5.0 hatch way back when so I'm not exactly new to Mustangs, but I really dig the retro look of the current car, and would like to hear from knowledgable owners on what to look (out) for.
