Hey everyone,

I live in the LA, CA area and want to go in a place my order for the '05. The problem is, I don't know which is a good and reliable dealerships to do business with. I have been hearing that in LA, they may inflate the price.

Does anyone know of a good place to go to? Should I go outside of LA? I will be greatful for some advice :worship:

B) I work in LA 2-3 days a week and got nothing but BS and a run around from several LA dealers I tried to speak with when I first started looking with money in hand. Being armed with info from this site (thanks Brad & Kevin specifically and others in general) I had a heads up on a lot of details not avaiable to them. I think they felt threatened.

Ordered mine from Teri @ Mossy Ford of Pacific Beach in San Diego. They seem very competative and she's definately responsive; Mossy's also the area Saleen dealer. Teri is no BS, drives a stang and a nice lady. She has kept me informed and been a pleasure to deal with. My wife thinks she's kewl; they hit it right off. Give her a call and tell her John & Donna recommended her .... I don't get nothing ... don't want nothing .... Just hope I can give something back to others on this site.

On top of that it's a 1.5 mile drive to Pacific Beach Boardwalk so you can cruise the beach off the floor.

Shiznit? Help me out here, kevin. I'm old. Do I just drop a few letters?

I heard good things about Mossy when I lived in Carlsbad, and the dealer there was pretty good also, but I've been gone for about a year and a half so I'm not sure anymore.

There's also a small store in Santa Monica that has a good reputation but I can't recall the name.

I ordered mine from Drew Ford, down in San Diego, I helped him out a little with the timing, but once things got rolling he has been sending me updates a lot...got my VIN and build date and everything.

Galpin Ford is the largest Ford dealer on the planet. Next time I go out to LA I want to spend a day there.

Buy it in Northern California. When you need to pick it up, fly in, take a cab to the dealer, and drive it home.

Nice way to put your first 300 miles on it, blasting from 65-100 and back down again, over and over and over....

I work about 5 min. away from Galpin and it is huge, but I have never bought from there, so I don't know how good the sales people are.

I have bought 5 different Fords from Don Kott Ford in Carson and have had no problems with them. In fact when I did have one thing come up they bent over backwards to help us out. If you do deal with them I suggest skipping the salesman and go straight to the fleet manager, he'll hook you up.

you can save money by going to Galpin. i have gotten them to give cars away before. The salesman are noat really better or worse but they deal in such a huge volume that they will make more cheap deals than just about anyone. That's where i am buying my car next year. i got my friend a 2004 gt there for 3000 under their posted invoice. which is just their ad price but we were able to get it on a nicely optioned gt with all his preferences for an ad car price. the trick with them is to co somewhere else first for an ad car. work some numbers and then go to galpin and let them know you have a deal at blah blah blah dealer but i didn't really like the color, if you can give me the same deal on the color i want i will buy it right now. that has worked for me three times now. and there always really cool about it as long as you don't waste alot of their time asking them a hundred questions. :flag2:

Thanks for the info guys...Yeah, I currently live in Carson and went to Don Kott in March inquiring about the '05. Well, can just imagine the response I got . So I have been waiting in the wings and dreaming. My boss received a letter offering the X-Plan for vehicles at a Santa Monica dealership. So I guess now I just need to narrow down my choices .

Thanks,
Miss Missy

thanks. That was one of my favorite episodes.

To add to what I said before...I always skip the salesman and go straight to the fleet manager. He doesn't care about commission, only moving the product.

I know you salesman don't like to hear that, but it is what has worked for me. The prices always seem to be lower.
