Stop being a ***** all the time! It's one thing when someone comes on here knocking your ride or American cars but mav hasn't. Maybe my girlfriend was right when she said the only people that drive Mustangs are ignorant hillbillies.
(No offense to the other respectful Mustang drivers, just some people uphold stereotypes)

Hey Mav don't let a couple of posters discourage you or turn you away from this site, most people on this forum are cool headed and not biased. Anyways, what kind of color stang are you looking for?
Once again welcome to the forum
And to everyone that this applies to, let's not turn this into an import vs domestic argument when the original post had nothing to do with that. :nono:

I just came back from the dealership, I'll be driving the GT tomorrow when it's not storming, and it's priced at MSRP. They said they can go lower

First time i saw a good picture of a white GT. I bet it would look good with red interior.

Welcome to the boards, and thanks for posting the pics (as folks have mentioned there aren't that many good shots of White GTs floating around)
that's a helluva car collection, btw. I'm sure the Mustang will slot in quite nicely

My local dealer won't let us test drive either but thats because they only have one at the moment and had already done 20 test drives. Test drive loop is 3 miles x 20 = 60 they didn't want to put to many miles on a single car.

Hey, Mav:
Welcome to the boards as others have said!
Yeah, unfortunately there are a few import haters on this site. They successfully uphold the "ignorant hillbilly" moniker. Greeting someone new with ignorant attacks is akin to hanging a sign around your neck that says: "Hi, I'm a redneck, how do you like me so far?"
I noticed you were attacked for having a "rice" car but the person neglected to note that you also have an M3!
I for one think that anyone who already has three such fine automobiles and is seriously considering the new '05 Stang, must really be impressed with it. And that speaks volumes about the new Stang.
One more thing, Mav. You said that some of the ***** and such felt a bit cheap, what about the rest of the interior? How is the vinyl on top of the dash...the aluminum trim, the gauge pods? Some people say it's faux aluminum...others insist it's real applique; same with the gauge pods...some say bright painted plastic...others say real chrome.
What did you find...?

I'm not sure if the aluminum trim is faux or real, however it seemed real to me. The chrome on the gauge pods and a/c vents is nicely done, and yes it looks like real chrome to me.
I'll have a better look this weekend.
IMO the interior of the 05 is a quantum leap over the previous Mustang. Keeping in mind, that it is a $25K to $29K sports car with V-8 engine, new technology, etc, there has to be some cost cutting measures somewhere along the line. Yes, the plastics used could have been a little better IMO, but relative to its price range, its good. I've seen more expensive cars, such as the 350Z, with far worse interior quality.
Thanks Robert and to all for the welcome. [/b][/quote]
My Friend, with the comment above you are making more sense than some of the so called enthusiast on some of the forums I frequent.
It is good to see someone who is used to driving imports considering a Mustang. If I were to chose between windveil blue or Satin Silver, I would go Satin.
Once again welcome to the board.

Welcome, mav! I'd love to have any of your cars. Only problem with the S2000 is that I can't fit in it! I sat in one at a dealership a few weeks ago, and I was just a little bit too big at nearly 6'4". And I'm not quite sure how an S2000 can be classified as "rice," but yours is definitely far from that moniker. I don't see a huge wing, no overdone body kit, and no carbon fiber hood/race graphics. Welcome to the forums and I hope you decide to get an '05.
Oh, and dump your girlfriend.
Haha, jk... But, her saying that Mustangs are hillbilly cars is just as bad and incorrect as Jay calling your car a rice burner. Even though I'm sure she said it in jest.
Camaro owners, though... all have mullets. :headbang:
