Anyone know where I can find a locking gas cap for my 05 GT? I checked Stant's website and couldn't find anything as of this past weekend.......

Any dealership should be able to get you one. It's in the accessories catalog. Sorry, I don't have the part number on hand. My catalogs at home.

beat me to it!

Ford does not have a locking gas cap listed for the 05 Mustang yet. However, they already make one, it fits the F150:
Ford part number 4L3Z-9K163-AA

It was around 25 bucks, but worth it IMO. Too easy to pop open the gas cap and through some candy/coke/dirt down in there.

Yeah, and with gas over $2 a gallon, it's all too easy to take mine!

Thanks, guys!

Its a seperate key? Ford doesn't have one that uses the same key as your car?

Did anyone else remove that connector that attaches to the fuel door? I think it gets in the way, and I don't like the idea of it dangling like that. It could hit the car, and that's no good. I much prefer to set it on the pump, and I haven't ever forgotten one yet.

I wish Ford had put a bracket on the door itself that you could just set the cap in that. GM does this.

I thought the same thing! On my other car there are notches so it sits on top of the gas door while filling up. See picture. When I bought the cap from KC, I thought about trying to dremel some notches into the cap so I could set it on the door, but the way it's designed I couldn't figure out how to do it.

The connector is pretty stiff, and doesn't seem to bump into the car while filling at all. I've only filled up twice since I put it on but both times I had no problems with it hitting the car.
