Honda already does and Chrysler specs it for the 5.7L HEMIs with the multi-displacement system.

It's all a conspiracy!! 5w20 is a garbage weight used to keep fuel economy up but offers inferior protection!!!

Just wondering, why Mobil 1? Sure, I've tried Mobil 1 on my old Civic, but it didn't improve my fuel mileage compared to Castrol GTX or Motul.

Cant tell you about your fuel milage, but Castrol GTX has sulphur and phosphorous which lead to sludge buildup.

. Since there is so much friction, and therefore much more microscopic (but still damaging!) particulate matter present in the oil, I would recommend changing it at the first 200 miles, then at 500 miles, and then every 1,000-1,500 miles until you have reached about 12K... Your engine will last well over 100000 miles.

I'd be willing to wager there would be no detectable differences between an engine that had 10 oil changes early in life compared to one that followed recommended maintenence schedules. Too bad you'll never be able to perform this test, since there are too many other variables.

It should last one billion miles for the 12 oil changes you gave it, but it's not really that simple. I think what you recommend is a bit of overkill. With today's manufacturing processes there is very little machining residue left inside an engine, and there is very little to no "wearing in" that needs to take place. Rings seat immediately.

On the other hand if it is over kill, it sure hasnt hurt my engine.
