The Motorcraft synthetic blend is a good alternative. I can't really comment on any others.

Nice, an Advance auto just went up next to my work, will open Monday. I found a case at Pep Boys .
It was the last box, and had been open already, of course I made sure it was all 5-20 Mobile one.
My valvoline supplier carries Mobile 1, but not in 5w20. He says theres not a big call for it. I bet there will be alot more real soon. Seing as how Honda,Ford, chrysler are all starting to recommmend 5w20. And any others I left out.

I'm in MO about 90 miles from KC and I had O'Reilly's order Mobil 1 5w20 for me. Came in the next day or so. I'ts just my opinion, but they should keep it in stock! Also, I was in an Auto Zone the other day...there it was on the shelf.

DISCONTINUED - For a product data sheet or replacement product information, please see the contact information at the bottom of this document." If it is available, would it be superior to 5W-20? Why? And why wouldn't 5W-30 be superior?
Thanks

Sorry, I'm not quite following this. Is this product still available? The mobile link says "Product Description

Mobil 1, Sheaffers, and Royal Purple are all good synthetics. I stay away from Amsoil. Amsoil has 30-36%additives. Mobile 1 only 10-12%. Its the additives that break down not the oil.
Use a good quality 5W-20 'dino' (conventional) oil until there is about 10-12,000 miles accumulated on the engine. For approximately the first 10-12,000 miles of a fresh engine's life, the parts all go through a combination of physical and molecular changes. For that reason, it is a good idea to stick with regular 'dino' for this period, so that you will have enough friction to wear in the parts, but not so much that you are damaging the engine. Since there is so much friction, and therefore much more microscopic (but still damaging!) particulate matter present in the oil, I would recommend changing it at the first 200 miles, then at 500 miles, and then every 1,000-1,500 miles until you have reached about 12K. At this point, you have done everything possible to help your engine reach as near a perfect state of 'equilibrium' as possible, and no more break-in is necessary. That means that now you want to have as little internal friction as possible. At this point, switch to a good full synthetic. Change the synthetic every 3000. Your engine will last well over 100000 miles.
