Please excuse if this is a repost, but I hadn't seen it yet. Some intersting info on the manufacturing process.

The color changing instrument cluster is only available with the trim upgrade package. Through the use of the upgrade package’s information center, located below the speedometer, the driver can change the red, green, and blue values of the instrument cluster lighting. The ranges are 1 through 5 for each setting allowing 128 possible combinations. Set the three values to 5 and the display is white, set them to 1 and it is virtually dark. As you cycle through the various combinations every once in a while you hit upon a setting that makes you go “ooh!†The best part is that when you get tired of one look you can change it whenever you want.

all ford message centers on the suv's use the same buttons, they say setup/reset/clear. the 05 has the same buttons on the dash as the exped and explorer use.

Actually, the '05 has Info/Setup/Reset buttons.

nah.... I just wanted to keep in sync with the latest trend on TMS: ressurecting extremely old threads

why do some people keep doing that?

Cause they have nothing better to do than read up on threads from April 04.
