Limited Production for 2005
#21
I own a V6 and it is fantastic! When I was at North Central Ford in Nov. all they had was 4 Mustangs and 2 were GT's. They said that they had never seen a Screamin Yellow one, I am sure that they are getting easier to get now but I wouldn't trade my V6 for a GT ever! I don't like the wheels ( they don't offer the spinners on the GT) and I don't like the fog lights in the grill. Oh well, to each his own. I love my car!

It is very difficult to find any GT's down here in Atlanta. Plenty of 6's but NO GT'S!! The dealers all say Ford is messing up in not getting the cars to them. They site it as a "supply problem" from Fords vendors that supply them certain parts. Remember we were supposed to have the 18" Fans with the BFG'S on line for this car?? We end up with 17" sorry looking "upgraded" wheels with Pirelli's. My truck F150 Lariet has better looking wheels and the same "egg crate" grille. IUP is also "unavailable" according to the dealers due to "supply problems". I don't forsee any SE's coming out soon since Ford can't even keep up with the 05's :notnice:

I heard rumor that the production was going to be limited in 2005 to only 15,000 units. I don't know if this was for the GT or V6 or both combined. Has anyone heard the production numbers yet?
I have a Screamin Yellow V6 and LOVE it. It's as fast as I could possibly want it to be. It's not great on gas so I can imagine what kind of gas mileage the GT gets! I have had it for almost a month and it only has 250 miles on it!

Thanks everyone for answering my question. Sorry to be so stupid Brad. I just know that at my dealership there have only been 3 total and they had to do a dealer trade to get mine. We bought a new Ford Truck and an 05 Mustang so they figured they could find me the one that I wanted! We drove to Dallas to look around and none of the dealerships had more than 2 or 3.

But fourteen of them were V6s, most of which had automatics
Talking to a salesman there, he said that they can barely keep a GT on the lot, the one GT they had displayed had been there less than a day and they'd had three serious offers on it, and they won't even let you sit in a GT unless you're willing to sign a commitment paper first
But they had plenty of the V6s... seems like the V6s are starting to overstock since everyone wants a GT and they just keep turning out the V6s anyway...
[/b][/quote]
Actually - you make an interesting point - traditionally Ford had about a 60% - 70% V6 Mustang sales witht the GT accounting for 30% - 40%.....I'd bet that's what they have production geared for the 1st year....will be interesting to see what the actual numbers of V6 to GT turn out to be for '05 and how Ford responds for '06.....same thing as Ford assuming that only 20% - 30% of Mustang buyers would want the IUP w/My Color.......

My dealer has also cited a supply and demand problem as well. But they'll be the first to tell you that they are primarily a truck dealership. And this plays a big part in the # of GT's they'll receive.

I have yet to see one of the GT's on the rode here in Birmingham. I have a friend that works for a Ford dealer and understand that there are a few about I just haven't been fortunate to see one.
On the other hand, if you want a V6, they are everywhere. Plenty to be had.
I can't believe that I am spending all this money on a car that I have never seen in person. I am about to begin my 7th week of pain.

ALABAMA?
God,Come to Alabaster. We got so many you can't shake a stick at them. I know of FOUR gts right here and I see them daily- A sonic, black, Lime and MG.....And a whole plethora of sixes. Ernest Mccarty has two GTs for sale right now- $25,740 both manual with IUP lite.

We finally are starting to keep around 7 V6's regularly now on the lot, and only manage to get gt's one at a time. I cant wait until we have 40 V6's and 20 gt's at all given times to choose from. Its so annoying not having more then a handfull, they are NEVER the right car someone is looking for, the day after one sells, it was the PERFECT car for the next customer.
