I was just wondering if anyone knew if they were going to make any kind of head light covers or if it was even possible for the new mustang? I thought they may look funky if they are possible. What about Xenon lights? those could look nice!

The model already has clear covers on the lights. Are you referring to something else?

Ford really should have spent the extra money to go with the Xenon HID setup. It would have added maybe $600 dollars to the price of the car. At least it should have been an option, I mean heck you can get it on the Mazda 3.

I am sure plenty of these things will be available at the SEMA show.

in less than 3 weeks we will see them.

Xenon systems are illegal unless they come with the car. I'm sure there are people who will retro fit a setup from another car to the Mustang but thats a pain in the ****.

What about replacing the light bulbs to get that clearer "WHITE" look instead of the standard "YELLOWISH" bulb? What size bulb would it take?

You won't be seeing an aftermarket HID kit because they are illegal. Only OEM HID's are allowed. If Ford comes out with HID's for the Mustang next year you could then retrofit those, because they are OEM.

You are correct,, for the most part. A lot of those HID kits were banned a few years ago. However, you can buy legal kits from reputable companies like sylvania.

You could replace them with the white looking lights, but it wouldn't be worth it. The blue filters on those white bulbs cause greater glare to oncoming drivers and also diffuse light more than standard bulbs leaving less light on the road.

The bulbs in the new mustang are pretty good. They have 1500 lumens on bright and 1000 lumens on low so they compare pretty favorably to other bulbs.

Until Ford offers us a HID setup (Cobra/SE maybe?) I'd recommend sticking with the standard halogen bulbs.

Has anyone checked out this place?

http://www.coolbulbs.com/HIDKits_body.asp

Just curious as I'd love to have HId's. Brighter light, cooler, and they're even better for on-coming traffic.

Stay away from off brand Xenon HID kits. I've heard nothing but horror stories about them. If your interested in good HID kits go to Xenondepot. I bought a Phillips Xenon kit from them for my Accord.

Thanks for the link, I found a couple other places that used either Philips or Sylvania equipment. I think it was Sylvania anyways. Pretty sure a set of these will make its way into my car. I think the HIDs make an astounding difference.

ive got a set of PIAA Super Plasma GT-X bulbs in my Protege and they look awesome, and help to reflect light off the road signs too. (Great for spotting cops from long distances too)!

Xenon headlights are legal when they are bought preinstalled in the car from the manufacturer.

Retrofit HID's are easy!!! CATZ manufacturers most of the OEM HID kits

The intent of this design was to look like an older stang, which it does. Putting Xenon lights in would not be the approach they wanted to take. However, I am sure lots of aftermarket companies will make them, hopefully like the GT-R

IF you want whiter, don't go with the blue coated ones. Spend the money and get Piaa's. I have a set of 9007 PIAA's that have lasted 6 years so far and going strong! They also match the same wattage as the manufactuer!

Remember, the reason the Mustang is so affordable is because Ford leaves out items like this. That being said, I wonder if they could offer it on the Cobra? Hmmm.
