Alright, I took my scoops and ducktail to get painted back in June. They painted them Lime Gold. Legend Lime is a Silver based green and not gold based. Come to find out both the lookup catalog and the computer had code P1 as Lime Gold.
So, my hood and new mirrors came in and I took everything back to get painted/repainted. The shop gave me two swatches to match and both had a hint of gold to them.
Has anyone else run into this and where can I find codes to the correct color?
Thanks a bunch in advance!

Best to get the paint from ford ,what PPG's computer color is and what fords is could be a shade off ,plus if you look carefully any plastic on the car (front or rear bumper )is slightly off in color due to the plastic in the bumpers .

I had a touch up done on my bumper after some ******* scuffed it. I can't even tell and I looked close. Although it was done by someone who contracts with the dealership so they probably had the official paint.

I'm the same with Scott whole rear bumper was replaced from a hit & run ,ford did the body and paint ....my co-workers looked at it after it was done they said that they couldn't even tell that the car was damaged .

I just had my rear bumper (thanks valet) and my CDC chic spoiler painted. Matched perfectly by my painter.

Thanks! I got the plenum cover from a company called Next Gen Industries (http://stores.ebay.com/Next-Gen-Indu...erLinksQQtZkm?) via eBay and put the pony badge on it myself. I'm very happy with it and would recommend them if you like the product.

I had the mirrors painted at the dealership. The body shop guy and myself were looking for legeng lime as opposed to the paint code. Couldn't find it. We began looking for the paint code...Lime Gold. It matches perfect!

just to add a note in here (I own a body shop so I would hope I know about this matter) color code P1 is the correct code and the name of the color Legend Lime means nothing to a painter.......that's Ford's name for the color. All we care about is the color code on the car. it could be called $*** green if you want it's all going to match if they mixed it correctly. And saying to purchase the paint straight from Ford doesn't mean anything either.......they don't make their paint....they wouldn't sell the exact paint used to paint the cars (factories use a completly different type of paint.....then the aftermarket uses.....including spraying equipment, booth environments, drying equipment etc....) I could go on and on about the differences but I have to get back to work also. Another thing about the plastic taking paint differently........that is a false statement also. The reason they look off color sometime is that these parts are not shot at the same time and probably not even the same location. This will account for a slite color shift at times. The only way to get a nuts on match is blend the surrounding areas with color and clear coat the entire refinished area.

That would be their excuse for the mismatch. Trust me plastic paints the same as anything else. Be it aluminum, fiberglass etc. I'm not trying to be rude.....I'm just giving my info, so if anyone happens to go to a shop to have repairs done and the color doesn't match.....and they give that excuse.....you can use this as a defense.

On the bumper and spoiler repait - my painter mixed the paint, I believe Ford will have to do the same. I'm not sure you can buy a gallon of "Legend Lime"

But compared to replacing the entire bumper it was a deal.

I've always heard that the static electricity in plastic body parts tend to to attract the metallic, so the color isn't as brilliant.
Hopefully, I'll have some news on the paint matching fiasco. Thanks for everyone's feedback.
WildColt, I thought you were talking about my plenum cover...
