When I am in the driver's seat using the steering wheel, I don't notice the "half-finished" steering wheel cover. I've been using "half-finished" steering wheel covers in my other Fords for the past 4 years. It won't win any beauty contests but it gets the job done. I bought it for my standard steering wheel mainly to get a better grip on the steering wheel with bare hands in the summer or gloved hands during the winter (It was a brisk -6F this morning with a windchill of -17F). I can see why people feel the lace-on leather covers look better, but the large steering wheel spokes would leave rather large gaps in the lace on cover making it look cheap, even though you spent $33 and 1+ hour of your time lacing it up. The IUP steering wheel isn't too bad except for the chrome accent panels, but it's not worth $150 to me.

I used to have a sew on leather cover on my Porsche from WheelSkins. It felt awesome. It takes about two hours to hand sew it on to the wheel but it's completely worth the extra effort.

Looks like they run about $45, they have a bunch of new designs and stuff for our modern cars, even the Mustang.

Has anyone tried taking off the wheel. I have the iup package but I also have a spending problem if i see a new wheel at the car shows I can see myself buying and let it sit in my garage for 4-5 years before i install on car. Can you pop off the horn airbag thing without it going off.

Neither will the $15 Wally's Special that you bought......in fact, it isn't 'tucked cleanly' anywhere. You know, a $5.00 cover wouldn't win any beauty contests either, and would also get the job done.....and you could have saved another $10. Sorry, just couldn't resist......
