Late '06 Manual Shifter Knob seems taller than '05 & early '06's

Late '06 Manual Shifter **** seems taller than '05 & early '06's.
The 5-Speed Manual Shifter **** in my '06 Mustang (build date approximately 02/06) is about 1 inch taller than some that I have seen in some '05 and early '06 Mustang GT's.
Is there a way to adjust my shifter so it is shorter like some of the others I have seen?
Is the V6 5-Speed Manual Shifter taller than the GT 5-Speed Manual Shifter? Want to make sure I got the right transmission in my '06 Mustang GT.
Anyone else noticed this?

In 05, the V6 shift **** was higher than the V8's. I don't know about 06 though. I would assume its the same.
Edit: If they did screw up, it woudl'nt be the first time. They ended up putting a seat from a V6 into my GT.
