Just a heads up about the possibility of the trunk being inadvertently opened. This morning I had a computer in a box in the trunk and when I took the turn pulling into work, the box pulled on the trunk release and opened the trunk! Just wanted to let you all know of the possibility.

There is actually a velcro-like attachment point engineered into the emergency trunk-release handle. Since afixed, it's been rattle free.

The best is that stick man pic for that univeral / International (?) tag for using the trunk release.
An engineering feat to come up with a symbol for "in case you find yourself locked in this trunk pull this handle so you can jump out".

I thought that was so the Mexicans in the trunk could make a run for it once you got accross the border..... or at least so they could get out when you drop them off at work.

I agree... I love the handle with "escape instructions".

Amazing that we need escape instructions, isn't it? I mean, if you're not intelligent enough if stuck in a trunk to pull the glow in the dark trunk release without reading directions, natural selection says you shouldn't escape... but maybe if you get stuck in the trunk at all (other than being stuffed in it) you should be naturally selected out of existence anyway.

Always wondered something about the Escape Pull. Glow in the dark things need a light source to recharge. The trunk is closed 99.9999% of the time. When the trunk is closed, its dark. So...how long does that handle stay glowing when it gets exposed to that 0.0001% of light?

I bet if you thrashed around long enough you could find it! A box with no eyes found it in about 15 min.
