Killed
So on the first full day with my new GT, me and my buddies decided to go to our favorite restaurant Mt. Fuji and make an appearance at the ny renaissance fair. Along the way we were admiring the stingers I had put on yesterday, about an hour after I got the car, when we spotted a 05 Blue GTO. We got matched up at a red light and I got the feeling he wanted to race, he was staring directly at me and revving the engine. We took off and I got about 1/2 a length on him, then suddenly i was looking at his rear. My firend was disappointed but brought up a good point. My car may be one day as fast as his, but his car will never look as good as mine

Don't worry dude. I got smoked by a Mitsubishi Galant. I don't pick too many fights anymore. I couldn't believe the way he destroyed me. To make things worse, I got stuck at a light next to him and had to endure a very painful 30 to 60 seconds of his laughter.
I felt like a turd.

From: That town you drive through to get to Myrtle Beach
That would also help the GTO...
Dont worry about it though, when you spend as much on your Mustang + mods as he spent on the goat, you'll smoke his ****. Face it, the Mustang is by far the best looking car on the market, plus, one of the best deals out there.

I wouldn't sweat it too much.
Have you guys seen how much smack is passed around at the LS1GTO site, regarding Mustangs?? Talk about an inferiority complex!!! Jeeez.
Pages and pages of put-downs and ridicule.
One GTO guy posted a pic of his (I assumed) 64, 66, (I think) and 06 GTO all sitting next to eachother. I just have to say: the new GTO has got to be the lamest looking attempt at a "musclecar" in the history of automotive design. And, sitting next too its ancestors,.....it looked even lamer!!!
It looks like a bit, bloated, feminine TIC-TAC on wheels. All the hood-scoops and badging in the world can't make that thing look like a muscle-car in my book. It's no wonder if you do a "Mustang" search there, like 700 pages of baloney pop up.....
I couldn't care if I got trounced by a GTO every day, I would still drive my Mustang with pride. You should as well.

Remember the old saying about it being easier to make a nice looking fat girl thin than making an ugly thin girl pretty...er, uh, something like that......same thing

Think about it...MSRP of around $25K for the Stang and $33K for the GTO. Just imagine what you could do to your Stang with $8K. Can anyone say supercharger? Then you would smoke any GTO out there. But, stock vs. stock the GTO is quicker.
As for looks, I'd rather roll in a red radio flyer wagon than the GTO. It looks like a Grand Prix hatchback. It may be the worst design ever, especially when you consider the mid-late 60's GTOs. They were sweet!
