Yeah, I get these reactions from kids also. The other day I was getting into my car in my driveway where a couple of kids were playing on their skateboards (probably 9 years old). One of the kids said "I really like your Mustang". I thought that that was cool.

A couple of months ago my brother and I traded cars for a few days. My bro picked up his son at school (5 years old) in my Mustang GT. Another parent (friend of their family) was picking up her kid, and her 9 year old son who was in her car was in awe of my Mustang. He begged my brother to take him for a ride. My brother did, and couldn't believe the kid's excitement. My brother has never owned a Mustang, but appreciates my admiration for American muscle cars. After that moment, he understood the Mustang frenzy a bit more.

The day I picked "The Beast" up, My first stop was picking my son up at YMCA day camp. One of the other kids yelled out "Does that have a V8?" and I said, " I wouldn't have it any other way." We left camp and drove about 3 blocks and a carful of teenagers said to "Rev it up" so of course, I did. Then they said to light em up and I had to decline and let them know I had just left the dealer. But, if I see them now......

I only drive mine to work 1 or 2 days a week and drive my Durango the other days. The same group of 4 young boys at the corner school bus stop, stare and comment "Cool car" and "Like your Mustang". When I drive the Durango they don't even wave. I guess it's the car!

Think about what you felt like when the guy down the street went buy in 70 Mach1 with the 428 Cobra Jet emblem on the hood scoop.

I get this all the time.
Sure I get the adults complimenting the car, but man, these pre-teen to early teen compliments are amazing. 8-15 year olds. Girl/boy mix.
It reminds me of the early 70's when I was growing up.
My crowd did the same thing. It was ok to see camaros, firebirds/TA's etc, but we always stopped to look at the mustangs, and even some chargers and goats.

mustangs, chargers and goats oh my............

The kids love these cars. My wife and I were cruising down Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago when we pulled up to a light. A group of teenagers start shouting over to us, "Nice Mustang!" It feels cool when you're looking cool in a really cool car! I love it! B)

I was like these kids in 1969 when I saw my first Mustang Mach 1 B) That was one very cool car and still is.

I now own a...
1995 SVT Mustang Cobra
will soon own a 2006 Mustang GT

So when many of those kids get old enough to drive they will want your 5th Gen Mustang for their first car and the saga will continue.

Hmmm maybe one day I will have that 1969 Mustang Mach 1 B)

Try driving by your local skateboard park sometime. The looks and waives from the kids as I drove by there the other day made me feel larger than life.

I have enjoyed the same response from kids and adults alike. One time really stuck out in my mind. I was waiting at a red light and a school bus pulled up and one of the kids told another to look at my car. Before you knew it, there were about a dozen little faces pressed up against the glass, checking out my ride. Kind of makes you feel good when you can brighten someone's day without lifting a finger!

I read this post a few weeks ago and thought it was cool that kids were cheering people on in their mustangs. Then, about a week ago, I was at work and was pulling out to go to a meeting. Our building at work is right in front of an Elementary school. There were three kids just standing in the school parking lot when I walked out. When I walked out, one of them asked me " Is that your car? The blue one?" I smiled and said yes it is. They were telling me how sweet of a car it was and that they were going to get one for their birthday!! That was so cool! It's so cool that kids love these cars as much as we do! -Marci

Yeah, I've had kids come tell me that my car is cool. The thing is that young kids have no conception of "image" yet, they simply like things that look cool, like the Mustang. When they see a BMW, they don't care that it's a status symbol, to them it just looks boring.

That's my take on it anyways...

I get kids of all ages yelling "cool car" or some variation all the time when driving by. My friend said that I'm like a backstreet boy now because all the kids cheer at me

The kids really love the 06 GT. They yell & wave like crazy. My grandkids demand to ride in the "fast car"! I also get the same reaction when I get the 1969 Coupe out. Got to love the kids, they are future mustangers.
I've also had strangers stop in front of my house to tell me my car is the hit of the neighborhood. I have run into people I know, who don't realize it's me, because they are so busy looking at the car.
These cars rock.

It amazes me too how many kids stare a hole thru this ride. I see kids in cars pointing, smiling, waving and talking to their parents at which time the parents turn around and look. I remember tho when I was young doing the same thing.
