One thing that I didn't expect was that my Stang would draw so many kids attention. No kidding, each of the last 3 days that I'm coming home from work, my car has been cheered from the curb by groups of boys maybe 9 to 14 years old. Different kids each day. I'm hearing shouts of "yeahhh Mustang!", "Really like your Mustang!", or "Cool car!".

Honestly, I didn't expect the kids to be into this retro design. It was a bit nostagic in a way as I recall cheering the bandit edition Trans Ams when they were first out.

Further proof to me, Ford really got this design right .

Funny that you posted about this last weekend I had the same thing happen. A bunch of young kids yelled out how they liked my car. It's happened so many times now but everytime I feel great.

Yeah, last night there were some kids playing in my driveway and as I was removing the car cover, a 9 year old yelled out " EVERYONE OUT OF THE WAY, THE NEW COOL CAR IS COMIN' OUT TO SMOKE SOME PUNKS ...

When I leave base the construction workers at the gate usually stop and watch me go by. I usually downshift and give the engine some load to make the exhaust louder.

On the way home from work on Monday I was stopped at an intersection and a couple kids on bicycles yelled over "Nice Mustang!" as I was sitting there. I've also gotten points and stares driving past a couple fund-raiser car washes.

ha ha, I have the same thing happen. On my street bya stop sign, thre is a house where a lot of younger kids hang out ( 7-10 years old) and whenever they are out there and I stop at the stop sign, I get a chorus of awsome/hot car/sweet!

Same here. It seems pre-teen boys are quite aware of the new Mustang, and freely compliment you and give thumbs up as you drive by. Maybe they're just kids, but I'll take the attention just the same. It still makes me feel great about the car.

No kids, but the best was I was at a restaraunt for dinner. Was watching my car through a window, and a couple in their SUV drove down, and literally drove around my car twice, staring and pointing at it.

I'm always getting the same reaction from kids in the young age groups mentioned. I'm still baffled by it. I didn't think they'd be aware of the stang at their age, in this day & age. I thought they'd be into ricers. Maybe there's still hope.

Got a similar reaction when I took home a 2006 Pony Package Tungsten 'Vert. It was REAL low on gas, so I filled it, and drove it around. Went into a town I live near. Alot of people walking around. I was at a light, with the top down, when 3 15-18 year old boys say "Mustang!!! Light it up will yeah?!!!. I laughed and was also amazed that this car bridges many generations.

Everybody knows a sweet looking car when they see one, it's just the jealous ones who won't admit it. Just keep kids away from the Fast and Furious crap and they will be OK.

Nobody can say a 4-banger will ever sound as good as an American V-8, I don't care who you are.

I was at Chik-Fil-A the other day and I had just sat down when somebody in the back (cooking food I guess) walked up and said "Dude is that the '05 Mustang?" And then 4 more guys rushed over and they all said at the same time "sweet!" I had a nice smile on my face. I guess the cashier at the register saw me cause she walked over and said "I think it's the kid's in the silk shirt and black sunglasses there by the window." Well I think she said silk shirt but Im'm not sure (kinda muffled) Then I went out to leave and a guy yelled out from the drive-thru window "hey is that urs?" And I said yeah. So yeah that was kool. But I also had another guy drive by while I was inside and he actually stopped and reversed to stare at it for like 2 or 3 min. It's is such an awsome feeling to have so many people admire the stang...but who wouldn't?
