I wonder how they will do with this list.

1. Front Strut Popping noise
2. CD Changer Skips Playing Regular CD’s
3. Gas Tank is hard to fill at about 1 out of every 5 stations.
4. Scratch on steering wheel insert right side
5. Scratch on shifter ****
6. Scratch on trunk lid under spoiler
7. transmission is noisy, especially in 2nd or 3rd gear sometimes
8. at least 2 bolts are missing from bellhousing assembly
9. Trim on top of windshield is crooked
10. both side rocker panels are loose and missing screws
11. passenger side front fender is loose and rattles
12. Clutch pedal is noisy, squeaks
13. Heater diffuser pushes 95% to floor when floor/vent is selected.

They said that I'd get it back today, but I'm not that optimistic.
Do you think I got a lemon?

Wow, did you get an early 05? I'd hate to think that these kind of errors would be common after production has been going a while...

On the first three items on your list the dealer will have to order the parts they need to repair the problems (Ford has TSB's on all of those issues) the dealer will need to order front end parts, a new CD player and a new gas tank, so you're going to hae to take the car back when the parts come in.

I had to take my car in three times for these issues...the first visit was for the dealer to order the parts, the second was to have the Shaker 500 replaced when the new one arrived, and the third visit was to have the front end repaired, oil/filter change and tire rotation. I third visit took most of the day.

I've decided to wait on replacing the gas tank as I have not had any problems recently.

Hopefully the other problems you have will be easy to fix.

Let us know about the heater issue - on mine most of the heat comes out the top of the dash and hardly any comes out on the floor and takes forever to get your feet warm.. They told me this was normal.

I've got the strut popping noise and I've had the gas fill problem about 3 times.

I'll let you all know, I picked my car up in March, ordered it November 26.

Also I called my Dealer and told him what my problems were, I told him that I wanted a new gas tank and to call me when all the parts were in, radio, and strut bushings too. So If I have to toake it back for any of the first 3 I'll be pissed.

I know WD40 or grease would fix the clutch pedal but I shouldn't have to do that.

I took my car in for the popping noise, CD problem and had it back after two days - the radio was replaced and parts had to be ordered for the front end. that was on Fri, July 15. On July 16 my car would not run properly and I got a message that the car was in fail safe engine mode. I had it towed from down town Detroit to the dealer. Mon AM, I was there, with my picture of the bell housing since I had that noise too. I got the car back on tues, July 19. the front end parts were taken care of , I had a bad throttle sensor which caused the car to go into fail safe mode. the bolts were in and tight, but they respositioned heat shields for the exhaust system which has seemed to correct the rattling noise. Hopefully that is the end of my problems. the car did look pretty good on the flatbed trailer being towed - but, obviously, not as good as on the road. Good luck to you.

Your dealer should be able to take care of those problems. It's sorry to see things like that on a new car. I would think that it would take at least a couple of visits to your dealer's service dept unless you can leave it there for a couple of days. I think they probably would have to order parts for you and set up an appointment to fix the items. Myself, I would question the fact that they can fix all that in one day. I don't have any problems with mine yet but it was produced in the beginning of June. Keep my fingers crossed. Meanwhile good luck on yours. Be patient, your car has a warranty and it may take a while to get those items fixed. I once had a Pontiac Bonneville that had alot of problems when it was new but the dealer took care of all of them and it was a fine car after that.

Well the update is as follows.. Had the car for 3 days

1. Front Strut Popping noise - Fixed TSB
2. CD Changer Skips Playing Regular CD’s - Fixed TSB
3. Gas Tank is hard to fill at about 1 out of every 5 stations. - Fixed TSB
4. Scratch on steering wheel insert right side - Fixed, replaced steering wheel, new bolts on order.
5. Scratch on shifter **** - on order
6. Scratch on trunk lid under spoiler - NOT FIXED attempted to buff it out, still visible
7. transmission is noisy, especially in 2nd or 3rd gear sometimes - TSB Parts on order
8. at least 2 bolts are missing from bellhousing assembly. - Fixed replaced bolts
9. Trim on top of windshield is crooked - NOT FIXED, have to get autorization from ford as it is part of the windshield
10. both side rocker panels are loose and missing screws - Fixed one side anyway
11. passenger side front fender is loose and rattles - Fixed
12. Clutch pedal is noisy, squeaks - Fixed
13. Heater diffuser pushes 95% to floor when floor/vent is selected. NOT Fixed - working as designed they said.

On top of that they scratched and bent the front edge of the console when they replaced the stereo, I called them the next day to complain. they will be fixing that in 2 weeks when all the other parts are in again.

Should I be a ***** and make them change the windshield? I mean the trim is crooked and I haven't seen another mustang with crooked trim yet.

I think they were hoping I'd just drop it or something and move on.
