Just test drove an 05 v6 vert
well, my mom drove...I rode.....it was a silver v6 vert with exterior sport appearance package, iup, black leather, upgrade rims, and 5spd....she loves stick shifts, but she was not used to the "springy" clutch"...(thats what she thinks)...I think it was a very nice car...fit and finish is great, ride was not as bad as everyone says (about the v6), but my mom said the engine was too loud (for a v6)...I thought the engine sounded great for a v6, like a porsche or something....she said she liked the "get up and go"...I did not think the v6 would have that much pick-up....she would settle w/ the v6, but my dad wouldn't....
NOW WHAT THE SALESMAN SAID
he said they will not get in any more 05 gts, but they have 20-something v6's coming....he also said THERE WILL ONLY BE 1500 COBRAS MADE!!!!!! thats total bs.....i knew more about the mustangs than he did....lol

In general, it seems to me that dealer salespeople are just slightly more knowledgable about the cars they sell than the general public. If an informed buyer walks in, the game is up; the salesperson knows diddly over squat in comparison. I have purchased three brand new vehicles of which I still own two of them and the dealer folks always had to look things up or get back to me on questions I posed to them about options, etc.
If I was a salesperson, I would know everything there was to know about the popular vehicles and have the rest at my fingertips.

When I saw the first GT on a lot, I went to look at it. The saleman told me it was 325 hp and would do 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. Some young kid who had no idea. I dealt with another guy that knew equally little about the car, but at least he didn't lie to make me think he knew more than me.
==is the cobra thing true (I hope not)? ==
It's an '07 model. Production numbers are a complete unknown at this point.

Frequently they don't even know information that can be found right in the sales brochures. It's embarrassing really.

1500 Cobras. A lie without a doubt. I will say one thing. If there was only 1500 Cobras coming out I can tell you right now that the going price would not be 40 grand. It would be much higher. Probably atleast mid 60's if not higher.
Well, maybe that was more than one thing but I hope you get my point.

I will say that all salesman, including mine, are not real knowledgable.
I will say that I give him an A+ for effort.
If I needed to know something he got right on it and got me answers.
I will give him that.
I agree with you David. If those are real numbers, it will put the Cobra out of reach for a lot af people. Not a smart move for Ford. Not gonna happen though.
