Is it just me or has anyone else not liked the TALL center console in the 2005 Mustang. I finally had the chance to sit in one at the Cincy Auto Expo. As excited as I was about the new Stang, I did not like that the console was so tall. Made me feel squished when I shut the door. Otherwise, I thought it was an awesome car.

Actually I thought that the center console was a pretty good height. Of course I'm a pretty big guy so that may be part of the reason it didn't feel all that tall.

Herm... I never even gave it a second thought. I thought the door was a little high when I sat in a V6 on the lot, but then when I got mine, no problem.

Youre talking about the entire center console, right? From stereo to back of glove box. I like the height of the shifter, my 99 was way too low. The glove box is back just a little more than I would like, but its ok cuz it provides for better placement of the cup holders!

Nope, haven't noticed. Center console height seems fine to me. If it had a power seat, it may have been set to the lowest position or something.

Its cool.....

I like the height, and the size. Its large enough to keep my comforts in it. My alero has a LOW console, I didn't like that too much.

I like the center console. The only thing I can't get use to is the door panel is higher than other cars I owned, including my 97 GT. I find that where I rest my elbow causes an odd angle on my hand that is holding the steering wheel. After about an hour of driving my hand starts to get sore.

Funny you mentioned the alero. My buddies girlfriend has one but when he drives it he has to put a wrapped up towel on it to raise it up. It must have been designed for short people. I am 6'1 and he is 6'2 and the alero console is waaaaaay to low. The mustang, just perfect.

I'm 6' 3" my much better half is 5' 1" and we both love it. GO for a test drive and let us know how it seems after that.

I like the height of the 'Stang's center console. Its just perfect for me (6'0").

And on my wife's Alero, I put a book on hers to get my elbow at a comfortable height.

Fits quite well, if anything, it could be up an inch or two for my liking. Or maybe I just wish I could get the seat a little lower...

One of the crappy things is every Mustang I've been in had the power supply detached with the seat seemingly set to its lowest point. Now I'm 5'6" and with the seat all the way down I feel like an 8 yearold sitting in the car. So I'm guessing with the battery attached I'll be able to move the seat up (almost all the way I'm guessing) and actually be able to see over the dash and hood.

We'll find out sometime around the middle of may!
