What problems are you experiencing that lead you to conclude the car will be out of service that long?

Interesting Trade-in to say the least. 22,000/7=3,143 miles per month so far. At best an O6 may be in 4 more months. So, 3,143X11=34,573 miles at time of trade-in. One year old O4 GT with that mileage = around $14,500 according to KBB. Interesting to find out the final offer on an O5. I would say no more than $16,000 if that on X-Plan deal.

Keep us informed when the deal is final.

You guys amaze me sometimes. Its like beeing in 3rd grade again. HELLO!!!!! The guy is trafing because he has 22,000 miles on his car. I would do the same thing. Its a smart move before he gets even more more miles on his car. Its a smart thing to trade at this time so he can get as much $$$ as he can now. Get it? Tell me yes and we will pass you onto 4th grade.

Perhaps we should start thinking of a get together. Hot dogs and hamburgers are on TMS.

good talk... take care.... like I said above...

To each their own.... find another link, if your looking for a verbal spat.
In case you haven't noticed, this is a public forum. Don't post your plans here if you don't want to hear criticism and certainly don't tell someone else not to post in this link just because you don't like what they're saying.

TN615:

I dont know what to tell you man. Its a shame that you post your plan and everyone has to be Mr. Know It All. Dont pay attention to these guys. Its not worth it. I think this site is increasing with a lot of imature folks. Good luck with the purchase of you new 06. Keep us posted.

There is something you'll have to learn yourself in life and its "You Never Beat The House" the odds are stacked against you. The anology equates to your deal with the dealer, wait until you see the bottom line and see how much those 22K miles cost you in real dollars. You are a dealers dream-----------

The differences among criticism, constructive criticism, and antagonistic trash talk are about as big as the grand canyon. This may be a public forum, but that doesnt give anyone the right to hate on everyone else. So far over half this thread has been worthless drivel, and half that again arguing semantics. I may be wrong in my assumption of this, but it seems to me this forum is here for the constructive kind of criticism, not the latter.

Is it your line of work that has accumulated so many miles? Or have you just taken the car out for too many joy rides? If you've already racked up this many miles in the first year, do you not think it will happen again next year? Best of luck to you in your trade.

This is probably the case. I hope you get a good deal trading the '05 in for an '06, but you most likely will take a loss.

I was speaking of criticism in general. If you're going to post in a public forum, expect to get both kinds. Here's a few of the orginal replies from early in this thread:

So your going to take a loss on the 05 so you don't have to be without your car while its being fixed? They won't give you a loaner?

This doesn't make much financial sense to me

I don't understand this post at all. Makes no sense to me.

You're ordering an '06 because you have 22,000 miles on your '05??
Those replies are hardly the "hateful trash talking" and "non-constructive criticism" that you implied. The originator replied to those posts in this way:

That sounds as stupid as......

Why on earth would you order a black mustang????

Oh..... you don't like red so your going to get black????

To each their own.... find another link, if your looking for a verbal spat.
To me, this particular post turned the thread to trash talking.

hey, if you can afford to trade your 05 for an 06, more power to you!

I think we'd all like to have a new car each year, but most aren't willing to pay the penalty to do so (and there will definitely be one).

You're right that there is a shortage of GTs... but a GT with 22,000+ miles in less than a year is definitely worth a lot less than a new 06 GT, even with X plan.

good luck!

LMAO.. Ok here is the guys topic. Does anyone see any questions marks anywhere asking for your opinion on anything? Did he say he is trading even? Did he say how much he is getting out of his Stang? Some of you guys crack me up. You remind of little old ladies starting crap becuase you aint got much of a life left. LOL. Too funny.

No offense but give the guy a break. Be happy for him. Congratulate him. Dont be snobby and jelouse.
