Hi all! Even after I register I still lurk

I just got word that my car is building this week and should be delivered sometime during the week of 12/13! I ordered on 10/15 and it's a Satin Silver Premium GT 5 spd w/IUP, spoiler, anti-theft, wheel upgrade and locking bolts. This is a great forum and I'll chime in more often after finals are over with...

When did you get your VIN?

 

Yesterday, when he called to tell me it was building. One of those "Oh, by the way..." numbers.

 

Had the dealer had the VIN for awhile or did he find that out on the same status report as the build date? The reason that I ask is because I ordered 10/18 and still have no news.

 

Good luck with your car and good luck with finals. Hope your car comes as scheduled or at least before christmas.

 

I don't know exactly when my dealer got my VIN, but on November 20 I visited him to test drive a V-6 and my order was on a parts hold at that time. Some time in the last two weeks is all I can say for sure.

 

All you guys getting your cars built and delivered WEEKS before me, and ordering WEEKS after me.. is driving me absolutely NUTS!!! :bang:

Congrats, although I think knowing its built is worse... LOL

 

Jason, mine to is being built this week, could already be done. My ETA is week of Dec 20th. The car was ordered Oct 26th

I have resorted to calling my poor dealership 2x a day! ARGH!!!!!

 

I ordered mine 10/27 I hope,hope,hope,hope mine will be in that same group. And here I thought I was doing good by ordering the day they premired. figures!

 

This is killin' me. I orderd the same time or before most of you on this topic and I have not heard jack. I saw 3 in the Best Buy parking lot about an hour ago, meanwhile I'm driving my wife's grocery getter. If my salesman does not have news for me on Friday's status report, then he will be sleeping with the fishes.

 

Not to make excuses for dealers by any means, but I'm in the Phoenix, AZ area. Maybe being in a top 5 market helps with build/dealer priority? It seems like alot of the posters on this topic are in the South East and outside of the NY, LA, CHI, PHX marekt-types.

 

Got my VIN and build date of 12/6. Said the stang should be here the end of December or first week in Janusary. YIPPEEEEEEE

The whole market thing would be a great excuse, however, my dealership gets one of the largest allotments of Stangs in California. California is a pretty big market, I would think. LOL

I have pretty much figured out its allocation VS timing.

Jealous as all get out that Avril has a 8 week turn around time!

 

Ordered mine on 20 OCT and got a call that it was built on 25 November. The dealer said 10-12 days for shipping (his guess). We'll see!

 

For further reference, ordered mine 10/19 (redfire GT, manual, everything except shaker 1000 and wheel locking kit), received VIN 3 weeks later, and car is supposedly being built this week with ETA 12/13-12/20. Great news, but won't get too excited until car is actually at the dealership. Originally ordered in June, but that order was screwed up/hijacked by another dealership, so still remain cynical.
