Just finished installing HID kits from stangmods!!

Okay people, I just finished installing the HID kits from stangmods and they look absolutely terriffic, I have only one complaint however. On the headlight kit harness when the vehicle is running, there is a distinct buzzing sound coming from the two relays that are bundled together... Maybe its just me but I don't think that is normal... Its quiet as a mouse with the headlights on and the engine off. And it isn't audible from inside the car, only from the exterior.. I'm kind of stumped here, anyone have any thoughts??

What temperature did you get and is it the one that uses the same bulb for hi/low? Post some pictures.

Most hid ballasts do make a slight 'white noise' hiss/buzz when on. My setup uses no relays other then the one that trips the bulbs up and down so I'm not sure how the stangmod one is set up

WOWZER! that is a good price they have there! How was the installation? I have heard of people having troubles with realys or something. Was it pretty straight forward? Did you ever have to send the kit back for something?

and also, do you have any shots of the wires under the hood? it would be a great help for install

Its the 6000k temp, bi-xenon bulbs kit. Hi and low beams on the same bulb. Here is a picture of a similar harness I found on the net...

The relay is where the buzzing is coming from, not the ballast. I actually touched the relays and there seemed to be quite a bit of internal vibration.

Mine did too when new, but I think they've quieted down now (or I'm used to it). Relays buzzing isn't necessarily an issue. If they chatter that's another story. Chattering is caused by insufficient coil voltage which in this application would likely be caused by undersized wire. Give them a few days.

My Saleen HIDs "whine" when first turned on - the noise seems to be coming from the ballasts.

I think the buzz is normal.

I have the stock one's on the 08. They do the same thing when first started. They make that "whine" noise for about 2-3 sec and then it goes away. Also it seams that they require a second or 2 to power on.

The VVME kits now include a solid state relay module. I couldn't figure out what it was until I looked at how it was wired. They no longer use a Bosch-style mechanical relay.

Kevin, did your VVME kit include two 20A fuse holders? Were they weather-proof/resistance or were they exposed?
