Well after looking and driving in cars both with and without the 18G package and of course after seeing the post about ordering the IUP door sills. Well I called my dealer and told him to go ahead an change my order to the 18R package group. Since no dealer here in Socal seems to have my car, Perf White , manual, interior and exterior sport group, dark charcoal interior with Anti Theft. I thought I might as well just change my order. It will still be my car direct from the factory just minus the MY Color goodies, message center, some trim junk etc.

And I really like the look of the black dash with just the trim bezels of the 18R package. The more I looked at the simulated brushed aluminium LOOKING panels on the dash the more I thought about removing them from my car if I ever got the 18G package anyways. So really I am losing out on the message center... which stinks because I think that is very cool. But I guess I missed the boat on this one. Maybe I will just trade it in, in 07 for a Cobra. Maybe 08 and I will buy a end of the year 07 Cobra.


At least my car may actually get built within the next week or two.

 

I changed to IUP lite also and also ordered the Door sill plates. I don't know about it being built in the next week or two since I changed 2 weeks ago and heard nothing since. I still think it's quicker than if i kept the IUP. I hope you are right. That would be great!!!!!

 

Hey guys, I too ordered 18R package on 12/14. My car is due in tomorrow or early next week. Counting the two week holiday that is pretty fast.

 

As soon as I get a full VIN I am ordering the door sills. And probably my Flowmaster and hood pins.

 

That's cool, I wish mine was that fast. It'll get here...eventually!!!

 

My wife wouldn't let me settle on the IUP Lite. I held out and my order is supposed to be pulled today. I'm glad I waited. I wanted the car exactly how I ordered.

 

where can I order the sill plates?

 

I love it when people change to the lite....it shortens the line for those of us waiting!

 

yupe I ordered on 12/5 with IUP but I have a feeling that based on IUP availability that I would not see the car anytime soon. And I don't want an 05 model if it will be so close to the 06 model release. You order an 05 you will get an 05 not an 06 regardless of the release date of the 06 and your build date of the 05.

As far as my understanding is on the retail factory order build structure at Ford.

I won't take a Mustang without IUP either...but if my order gets so close to 06 production time before delivery then I am going to wait a little more for the 06 new and improved version...

 

Ordered mine with 18R as well. I was only interested in the the leather wrapped steering wheel. It's hard to tell now, but when the final sales figures come out, the 18R will probably be more rare than the 18G, since everyone seems to want the "Bling." If I need to know if my battery is charging, I'll check it with my voltmeter.
