I've Received the "Go-Ahead" From Mission Control
#1
Its official! I breached the subject of my intentions to buy an '05 Mustang GT this spring and, surprisingly, received the thumbs up from mission control. Her only stipulation was that she be able to drive the car while i am away on business.
I have been tossing and turning over what, if any, name i should bestow upon my new car once she arrives, and following tonights discussion with my wife, she will be officially named after her..."Amy".
Let the official countdown begin! T-minus 10 weeks and counting until i order!

Congrats Gibson.
It took me over a year to get my wife on board.
After 23 years of marriage, I've learned that it's a process more than "honey can I get this car?"
It starts out with pictures on the desktop and comments like "Oh, you ought to see what Ford is doing with the '05 mustang."
She stills jabs me a little bit about keeping my '66.
She asks me what I am going to do with two mustangs.
My simple reply is.................."Why, the same thing I do with one."

My wife is "on board" too.....
She said "Honey, you should order that 05 GT Mustang that you want."
Then she says she will sell HER paid-off car to help buy it...
she will make 25% of the payment...
and that we can park it on HER side of the garage!
Have I been snookered?

Good to hear! Did you talk her into stripe's as well?

Yeah, i found a guy to do the work, vinyl, just like yours for about $300, as he gets the material wholesale. 10 year warranty and all that, so ive just told her that they are an aftermarket option that i will be getting with the car. She wont really care.
The next question is if i should have the name actually put on the car somewhere? Maybe like the just under the hood or in a door jam or someplace thats a bit inconspicuous. What do you all think?

I AM the wife, and its MINE! LOL To get it, I only had to tell him I loved it, and wanted it. . When he bought his truck, we were out he pulled into the dealership, test drove it, looked at me and said, "Honey, you like?..." and I said, "yup!" And voila a new truck.

anyway it was my wifes idea as well, I thought we were buying the car for her, she had no intentions of driving it but she does look good in the passenger seat. I havent come up with a name for her yet, my wife always ask why is it a girl?

I am blessed also with a loving CINCHOUSE. :worship:
She has already asked me what aftermarket items I want, and to start making a list. She wants to buy as many of the items from the start for the car.
She doesn't care to drive the car but she told me to get it exactly the way I want it. That is very nice of her, since the last new car we bought was... my 99 stang.

It was my turn to get a car. My wife should be happy I'm buying one now because she doesn't get her new vehicle until my Mustang is paid off. The quicker the Stang is paid off, the quicker she gets a new vehicle. We only want to have one vehicle payment at a time.
