I've never inquiree about this until now...

Ok, to the point...what's this thing? It's been chillin' behind my mirror for 4 years and I never bothered to know what it is. it's definitely factory.

Looks like the receiver for a remote start to me.

Dealer installed option maybe?

Definitely not dealer installed because mine was factory ordered. I do have remote start though...any other opinions?

why would the sat radio be mounted in a spot that doesnt have a clear view of the sky?

My Edge has it mounted over the mirror under and on the windshield that is a pretty good view of the sky.

It is for the remote start. My recently acquired 2009 GT/CS has this factory remote start and I was told this is antenna is for that feature.
