Okay, I know that I am not ordering my car for a while (March/April), but all the talk about IUP delays, MyColor Patent issues, etc...are really starting to bum me out.

The IUP lite (ISAP) was a quick easy fix, but does not meet my want list.

The IUP is apparently on hold for every model according to another post a few days ago.

Here is my idea:

1. Ditch the MyColor feature and aluminum dash treatment.

2. Keep the six gauges. I prefer vehicles with more gauges, four is just not enough.

3. I still want the message center as well. I like having a little extra info, plus it takes care of the blank buttons on the dash.

4. Keep the IUP steering wheel door sill plates, door handles, and gear shift ****.

I would be willing to pay between the 200 for the ISAP and 450 for the IUP, it would still be a great deal. Of course, it would also have to be available with the ICAP.

What do you think?

I think the supply shortage that has caused the hold on IUP orders will be solved really soon. Ford marketing has projected too few IUP orders and now they know better!

No. The dash treatment is the best part in the package IMO of course.

I agree, I bet if you made a poll, the majority of 05 owners with the IUP would say they got it for the aluminum treatment.

I have waited for this new 2005 Stang for a while with all the bells and whistles attached and until it arrives I have my 98 Stang to cruise around in. Sometimes it pays to be patient.

When I first got the IUP all I really wanted was the aluminum dash and the 6 gauge pack. I could have cared less about the my color feature and I thought I would never use it. Now I wouldn't give any of it up, it is all superb and the message center is something I really like. I don't use any of the custom colors, just one of the six preset's and I think Ford need to work this out and keep it all.

Agreed. It's too plain without the aluminum, and you gotta have the message center, door sill plates, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter with aluminum accents!
