and now it's going to sit on the dealer's lot for a week because I can't get insurance before 6/12.

When they do these eta dates, why don't they try to make them accurate?

Now I have to worry about them using my car for test drives.

I'm going there now to see the car, actually to check the mileage.

I don't like surprises like this. My nightmare is my car sitting in a parking lot for a week, and now that's what's happening.

That's NJ. I have no tickets, no accidents, no claims for more than 10 years. I cancelled my policy when I sold my Honda last month and now I'm going back to the same company (I've been there 3 years) and started the paperwork last week. Its in Underwriting now and will be there for days. The earliest I can get insurance is 6/12.

That stinks, I can walk into my insurance agents office, fill out the paperwork, make a payment, and walk out with insurance.

BTW, I talked to my agent about potentially insuring my mustang, and he said I am somehow insured when I buy a new car, I think because I have an existing vehicle insured with them. I am covered as a driver.

You should be happy your car is at the dealer. Some of us don't know where our cars are. Be happy and go visit it everyday!

You have got to be joking... Let me say that I would find another insurance company and I would be driving off the lot with my car TODAY!!!! There is no way I would be waiting for a week.

12 business days for a new policy. It's a NJ thing. Actually, I was told Geico will day same day coverage, but when I called for a quote for my Honda (I was paying $2,000 a year) and they quoted almost $6,000. AIG was worse. I'm not sure its worth it for 3 days.

Okay, my insurance company said Friday at the earliest. My bank said they can't give me a loan until I have a binder. So Friday is the day I'm gonna get my car. Probably Friday night.

I was on my way to the dealership to look at it, but I was too upset and went to lunch with father and brother instead. My brother is gonna go look at the car later and get the mileage. He's also going to tell the dealer that I'm freakishly **** when it comes to people driving my car. I'm also putting money down on the car so they know its mine.

My fear is they'll use it for test drives. I'm not afraid of door nicks or dents, just as long as no one drives it. Hopefully, they'll park it somewhere and let it sit until I can get it.

Friday will have to be good enough. I got it by June 15 and that was my goal. I'm not going to complain anymore, I'll just go and visit the car tomorrow and deal with the paperwork hassels and be thankful I have a new vert to drive for the summer.

Congrats on your car coming in...too bad you have to wait to pick her up. Just tell the dealer that under no circumstances are they to use YOUR car for test drives. Be sure and post some pics!!!

I was thinking about pictures of my cars and I realized I had my Honda S2000 for almost 2 years and the only pictures I have of it are from EZ Pass violations.

I have one picture of my 92 LX next to a giant Redwood tree because I needed something to show just how large the tree was.

Okay, I'll violate EZ Pass on my way home from the dealer, I should have a photo to post in a week or two.
