I thought I would let people know about this bit of information I picked up tonight at my dealer.
They were expecting 3 cars. 2 GTs (1 black (mine) and 1 Redfire) and a v-6. As it turns out, the Redfire car got "refused" because of delivery damage. Apparently something happened to the car as it was coming off the truck. I know this has been mentioned before, and I'm hoping that this doesn't become a wide spread problem.

I know how it felt to wait this long for this car. And I know what people who are still waiting are going through.

Ford needs to find a way to eliminate this anomoly regarding the delivery of these cars. If they need to bolt up a plastic "shipping cover" to the bottom of the cars, then they should do it.

I was thanking the car gods tonight that it wasn't my car that was damaged. But, some other unfortunate soul wasn't so lucky.

 

It was stated in a previous post that they were changing the ramps to prevent the problem ... guess it didnt happen to that carrier yet ... good thing it wasn't yours.

 

Excellent, missed that post. Glad they've acknowleged the problem and are being proactive.

 

yea i called wayne ford here in NJ and they sent the red gt back cuz of a HUUUUGE dent they said was in the trunk

i was gonna come watch u drive it away but i was too sad and i figured u probably picked it up

 

it was sooo funny cuz i was almost ready to come in and then lady calls back and is like someone just bought it over the phone he said hes coming in right now and have the paper work then shes like we had to send the red gt back. im like soo when the gt comes back call me. soo instead i went to see a ferrari 360 at the porsche dealer

 

could be worse.......

i saw that and it pains me.........BTW 97SVT wow this is like the smallest world definitely. soo where do u live im gonna like sit by a highway and wait for u to pass by soo i can finally see an 05 driving. and give us a report how is she hows she drive?? pix????????

Ug, didn't want to see that poor pic again. Let's face it, those guys were playing with that car and messed up.

Some poor person missed out on their baby.

 

I dont know, I think the car-carrier green says it all on that one

 

im scared now. im ordering my car probably in february or mach for springtime and i dont want it to get damaged id be soo pissed cuz that means more waiting

I owe a lot to this site. Using the forddirect.com tool I was introduced to on this site, I found a couple of the cars I wanted. The first dealer I went to in Wachung did the 'ol $3,000 over list trick. I walked. Then a friend of mine (who happens to be a former Wayne Ford sales rep) told me he would call the sales manager there and set me up. He did just that. I got my ride at MSRP. I know, not a deal, but believe me, there are tons of dealers in NJ doing the market adjustment right now.

I'm actually from down at Exit 7A on the turnpike. Took me like an hour+ to get up there. The car already has 112 on it just bringing it home. It's not likely you'll see me anywhere near there till it's plate time. That's about a week and a half away. I'm doing it on a Saturday. Let me know, perhaps you can come over and see the car at the dealer.

Dont worry that much about it, we maintain a very large inventory and hardly any vehicles come in damaged, especially considering how many excursions and superduties that have less then 6" total clearance on the sides come in. They need to make Ford-sized carriers. We had a flatbed that come in that couldnt fit a supercrew SD on the back the other day, it was pretty funny. More damage comes from sitting on the lot, especially over the winter from clearing snow and customer's bulky jackets.
