+ 1 how mine is hooked up. Same for the xm. Works good and kept the factory shaker.

I got mine at Radio Shack for like $2, and soldered it into the wire in the replacement harness. Easy to do and works great.

Just some info that may help you out: I have an 05 GT also and have struggled with the iPhone/iPod issue. Long story short, save up and get a new head unit. It will make your factory speakers sound SO much better, and if you do it right you can get FULL iPhone integration with DVD and CD for around $300. When I say "full" I mean you can access all your apps (like Wunderradio- which is better than Sirius; navigation apps, iPod video, etc etc etc) I put a Pioneer AVH 2300 in, and it is worth 10x every penny. Plus I can talk on my phone, use gps, text, etc without messing up or interrupting my music. I wish I had done this from the beginning instead of messing with $50-70 solutions that don't really work.

I believe there is a adapter you can buy from best buy that uses your stock radio and has a wire built in to it so u can use your iPhone/iPod it's around $75 I think.

Best buy has a adapter/charger. It was like $130 with everything including install. They wire it into the back of the factory radio because there is an input on the back. It worth the money. No static, it's really clear
