I used to have a 98 Mustang GT, and at the time I used to have an almost hour long commute to and from work. The car was pyshically draining to drive for long periods of time and it was one of the reasons I got rid of it (dumb idea though). I got a SVT Focus to replace it and while its a much more confertible car to drive, the thing is a total POS that I'm going to replace at the end of this year hopefully.

So heres my question...how is the new 05 Mustang's interior space compaired to the older 94-2004 models? I'm 6'2 and I drove in a friends Mach1 and still found the car to be on the tight side, even with the seat all the way back.

i honestly think u wont have a problem in it....the space has been increased inside because of the 1 inch overall gain width-wise. it make a diff. and length has been increased along with head room.....go sit in one to find out. the way back....of course its tight haha

The new bodystyle makes for a very comfortable car to drive. I drove mine 80 miles or so to the dragstrip, was a very easy ride. Very smooth ride on good roads and the seats are excellent.

I sat in an '04.......and I would never buy one because of the cramped feeling. Now, on the other hand........the roomy interior of the '05 is what first sold me. I was ultra comfortable, and could drive all day long with no after affects. BTW....I'm 6'2" also

I think the best thing to do is go to a lot and sit in one. You should not have much trouble finding a V6 to sit in.

My husband is 6'2, and he fits really comfortably in the drivers seat. The seats are MUCH better. I had a 99GT, that hubby was sorta cramped in, and the seats werent the best. We drove it to Vegas, very smooth. I drive 60 miles every day in it, and I have no problems. Shifting is even smooth enough that I dont mind it for 60 miles everyday, even when half of it is in city stop and go. Clutch is nice, light and high. Shifter is in a MUCH better position this go-round, and I dont get back strain reaching for it.

My $.02, I have 5500 miles on her now.

Hi,

The new mustang is very comfortable and more roomy then the older ones. I think you should be OK but at 6'2 you may want to consider a new Chrysler 300 as well which is also a nice car.

I'm 6'5" so I don't really fit in any car all that well, but the 05 Mustang is definetly acceptable. The one thing I looked at is possibly skipping the Shaker 500 to get a bit or room back from the subs in the doors, but decided it didn't make that big of a difference. I agree that you should just go find one to sit in. No way to really know how your particular frame is going to fit until you try.

05 Mustang Sports Car vs Chrysler 300 family sedan :bang: I don't think so....

I'm 6'4" and I got the Mustang because I fit fine. I actually have to move the seat forward a little to drive. I also have about 4" clearence above my head. In the old Mustangs my knees would hit the steering wheel with the seat all the way back and I had to lower the back of the seat some to get my head clear.

I have also had 4 adults in my mustang to where you would not ever attempt that in the old body style.

Hey now, the Hemi powered 300 is a great car! .. even if it is a moparmobile...

Anyways, I'm 6'1" and I don't even have the seat back all the way. I don't think you'll have much of a problem.

Thanks for backin me up! Most the people on this forum act like no other car exsists but the mustang! Don't get me wrong the new mustang is a killer ride but personally I'd take the Dodge Viper in a heartbeat over any mustang!

Well ever think you are on a MUSTANG DG, not a 300 DG. If I wanted options about other cars I would ask on those boards, not this one.

After sitting (or driving) any other recent mustang, getting in this one, the first thing you notice is how freaking HUGE the interior is.

i got a 95 gt and i went into my local ford dealership and sat in the 05 stang and let me tell you i felt like i was in the grand canyon compared to my car...if you can find the 94-04 interior acceptable, the 05 should accomodate you just fine

My son is 6'3" and he fits very comfortably, as for the back seat I'm only 5'10.5" and I have to bend over a little bit but then again you are not driving from the back seat are ya?

Ok, I actually feel as though I have less room in the new stang than in the 99-04's. Maybe just because I am backwards on everything else, I am about this too. I'm not sure. And I'm not even that tall, in fact I am a very short 5'4.

But after having a 96, 02 & 03 I feel that the 05 has the smallest interior & the largest exterior of them all. I feel like I am driving my grandpa's 98 Contour instead of a Stang. And while I feel there is a ton of passenger side space, there is no drivers or backseat space.

But again JMO. And again it may just be because I have always been backwards & seen thing differently than most. And it could also be that I am still getting used to the way it drives & the way it feels.

Anyway, don't listen to me. Go sit in one & see for yourself. Again JMO.

6' 4" 280 lbs... not a problem in the front seats of an 05. The only place someone can sit in the back seats are behind my passenger seat. Behind me - no room unless your a small child

2001-2004 - Forget it - I feel so cramped that I am forced to sit with my arms in front of me and scrunched.

I'm 6' 4" and the comfort of the coupe is what sold me on ordering a Vert. sight unseen. Took delivery 3/31 and while I have only put 125 miles to date, I am very pleased with comfort and quiet of ride. Best convertible I have ridden in.
