interesting comments from a 15 yr old...
at church today, I was talking with a couple that has a auto salvage business, got to talking about my 69 project somehow- anyway, their 15 yr old son says " have you seen the new mustangs yet- I HATE what they did to that car, especially the back end. If somebody gave me one Id bondo one on from a 05" I told him how grafting one on wouldnt be very easy due to the shortened quarters, but anyway, was interested in hearing even some of the younger generation thinks ford screwed up._____funny, I'd just always assumed the pre-driving age 'car nuts' would be all hyped up due to the incredible reviews of the '11/5.0_______was interesting that even the lesser 4.6s still have new fans...I said when I saw that silver one at the auto show in 04 that it would be the next 'classic' Mustang- it was a love at first sight thing, and probably the only time I'd seen a new model that looked even more desirable than the concept car was...I really liked the concept, but loved the final version.
I'm still not all that fond of the looks. Once in a while I'll see one that looks really good, but it still doesn't hold a candle to previous generations. I think I'd still rather have a Mach 1 or termi.
I feel the same way. The 05' was love at first sight, and with the 10+ I'm still trying to make myself like it. There's some modified ones that look pretty nice but most of them just look sort of awkward and not quite right to me.
The new look of the 10's & 11's have still yet to grow on me. The rear and the squished front end kill any thought of upgrading, even with the 5.0.
Now if I find a nice deal on an 04 Mystichrome Terminator....hmmm

Hating the rear end. It's not a tribute to any mustangs and not a ressemblence to any prior models. Not a heritage thing either. They should've gone more towards the elongated lights they used for the 2005 prototype, THAT would've been a total hit in my opinion, not that hideous thing they did with the rear end.

Still trying to love the '10-'11 rear. It isn't happening for me. 2011 Shelby GT500 at Olathe Ford in Kansas. Gorgeous in every way.... wait for it... except for the rear end. And the Shelby looks better from the rear than the GT or V6er.

The concept team was actually sent the CAD drawings of the production car and created the concept off of and after the production version.
I agree about the styling compared to the 2010+ I could have bought a 2010 last year or waited for the 5.0 as I knew it was coming but I loved the 2005's design since I first saw it in 2003-2004 on these very forums. I had to pick up the 2009 as a new car, my first brand new car as I'd never have the opportunity again to buy a 2005-2009 new and with a new car warranty.

I saw a v6 that was pretty done up with wheels and the whole deal. Comming up from behind me it looked pretty dam amazing! From the side I really liked it but when I let him get in front of me and I saw the rear it took away from the overall sleek mean look of the car.
I've seen very few of the mustangs with the new 2010+ body style that I've liked at all. Yeah, some look better than others, but to me....the car is a 95% disappointment. Front end is ugly and the rear is absolutely hedious. About the only view I can stomach is a side view, and thats never going to be enough for me to ever want one. Put a V-12 in it that gets 60 mpg and I still would pass.
I swear, its just like the original run of mustangs. They came out with a great design and then proceeded to make it wider and heavier till it was a boat and for me, lost all that made them appealing. The 2010+ just remind me too much of the same thing. For some, I'm sure thats great. For me, the best looking mustangs were '66-68. After that, for me the design just went down hill rapidly and thats how I'm seeing the body style since the changeover post 2009's.

heheh- thats for sure...I got a pic of our three mustangs and 65 LTD 4 door sitting in the front yard- the LTD looks like a pedal car...the mustangs are taller/wider and the wheels are huge. sitting next to the 69, the new ones totally dwarf it- and I always thought the 69 was one of the 'bigger' years!
