Ford shipped the GT, so AAFES will be getting an ear full from me tomorrow morning. They told me it would be delivered on July 22nd. I knew it wasnt going to be on the 22nd, I assumed it would be around that time frame. Thats why I've been planning on going home on July 15th. But now the car is going to get the 2 months early and just sit there. I just want to scream the F word at the top of my lungs, oh wait, I am.

I know I was excited when I ordered mine, due in February of 2006 and it was on the showroom floor at the dealership Christmas Eve.

Looking at his location of Kadena AB Okinawa Japan/Ft Worth Tx is home... and why he's less than pleased makes perfect sense.

Corey, I can understand your frustration. A suggestion: Plan to go over your new Mustang with a fine tooth comb. Make sure all the options are there. If you have questions, ask them. If they don't know an answer, make them find out the answer. Take your time inspecting your new Mustang. Hold they're feet to the fire. Good luck! You'll be enjoying your new Mustang soon.

Do you have a relative in the area that could check out the car when it arrives? If it were me I would want to verify the mileage on arrival and again when you get home to pick it up to make sure the stealership wasn’t using it for test drives.

Typically the salesperson is pretty protective of their customer's ordered cars. If I have a special order sitting here awaiting pickup, I **** well know where it and the keys are at all times.

A call to your dealer is in order. Your Salesperson should make sure that it is stored inside for you safe. Part of your contract included the delivery segment. Unless of course they want to upgrade you to a Shelby GT.

Mabey you'll get lucky and Overhaulin will get ahold of it and Foose will trick it out before you get home! LOL

Congrats and condolences all in the same breath.

I was in a similar situation when I ordered my 05. It got to the dealer in Oct - I got home in Dec.

Guess what? They drove my 100% paid for brand new 2005 Mustang GT in a freaking parade. Some on these boards may remember that ordeal. I got to the dealership and it had 63 miles on it before I ever sat in it. I had made it clear to not even take off the plastic, but they didn't listen. (Walker Ford - Clearwater, Florida) (Yes - I still hate them).

Anyway - get photos, promises, etc. Tell them to leave the shipping plastic on, etc.

Congrats and good luck.

I remember. I saw your car at the dealership shortly after it arrived. It was nestled in the back, next to a fence. I was there ordering my car. Yes, Walker Ford in Clearwater Florida on US19 sucks. If you think their sales staff is bad (which they are), you should see their service dept. Stay AWAY from there too.

If I were you I'd have someone at that dealership to pick up the car when it gets off the truck & do a complete inspection. Have them make sure that everything is right on it and drive it someplace & store it (enclosed) until you can get home to pick it up. With it sitting there on the lot that long there's no telling what could happen to it and you know the dealership probably won't treat it right--get that car someplace secure!
