A "little" off topic, but I can't stand that I live in Chicago where nothing disastrous happens while people in Florida on-the-other-hand (those nearest the coast particularly), have homes, cars and other stuff destroyed every 7-10 years due to hurricanes. I think it stinks that insurance lets them rebuild and rebuy all those homes and cars each time, but LIVE IN THE SAME PLACE WHERE IT HAPPENS AGAIN (and again and again).

All car insurance would be much cheaper if it wasn't for states like Florida and Kaleefornyah (thanks Governator! lol)
Your rates reflect those circumstances. I'm sure the people in Florida have MUCH higher homeowners insurance than I do. Being in Chicago, where you are, I'm sure that your auto insurnace is higher than mine because of all the traffic. The insurnace companies have statistics out the wazoo on all this stuff.

Man, that stinks. I would be very upset if that happened to me. In the end, it is only a car, and can be replaced, but still....I've poured a lot of time and sweat into all of my cars.

And I resent that "at least it's only a v6" comment.

Even if it was a civic, you know, a lot of people look at civics as just crap, but there are some fast civics, and regardless, it's someone's car, whether it's a civic, mustang, corvette, old jeep, etc etc. There's a lot of people out there that would think "it's just a mustang..."

Yeah, it stinks that it had to happen, even to a v6, but the owner probably treated it like crap and never took good care of it. If it were a stunning pony, then I would definetely start to break down in tears, especially if it were my 6.

This car, nonetheless, would make an awesome project car.

Frances was the first tropical storm to hit the Jacksonville area in decades. We got the rough north side of the storm, and I finished cleaning up from it just this afternoon.

Florida is vulnerable to tropical systems, but only in a few locations. The gulf stream along the eastern coast nearly always deflects storms from hitting central to northern Florida. My dad used to live in San Francisco, and he said he'd take living in Jacksonville over the earthquakes out there any day. This year's just a freak year for Florida getting hit. Seeing as how we've been hit FOUR times already this year. (Tropical Storm Bonnie hit but didn't really do anything)

1 Charlie
2 Frances
3 Ivan
4 Sale

That hurricane left some nice straight cuts on that tree

I also wonder how a car can get on fire in a hurricane poor down...

Obviously you've never been through a hurricane. It's not like a Constant Downpour of Rain the Whole Time. There are gusts of wind and Rain but it's not really the water falling that floods a Hurricane Area it's the Tidal Surge that causes flooding. I really don't know what caused the fire but it didn't leave much to work with.

Maybe, it's Your Monitor that's Really Off? It looks Black to me, and it was Black, I went by and checked. Does it look Green to anyone else? Besides, Tropic Green was a Bright Green wasn't it? This is/was definitly not a Bright Colored car.

Oh, geez... Ivan is back! We're getting lots of rain and wind gusts of 40+ now. And they're saying it might go into the Gulf and redevelop? Sheesh! :bang:
