At 27, I am getting my first brand new car ever with the Mustang GT.

Keep in mind that 27 is not too far from being 34 -- so anyone who thinks 34 is "midlife crisis" age is full of it!

Im going to be 42 in August. Who cares what others think. Im purchasing a car thats been a dream for me since I rode with my best friend in his '66 in High School. Consider this an award for years of dedicated service... lol

I owned a '74 Mustang that, hands down, was the WORST car I ever owned. This is redemption.

Mid life? Im prepetually 21 and in my line of work, I have to bust butt to keep up with the youngsters

I'm 42 and have had 8 (counting the '05) mustangs and countless other cars. Just last year a co-worker of mine went in for what he thought was a routine physical. He had been very diligent about taking care of himself because both his father and grandfather had died of heart attacks in their 40's. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer and died 4 months later...he was in his early 50's.

I say, if you can afford it and your not hurting your children's future or something like that, then drive whatever you want and let them all think you're having a "mid-life" crisis. The phrase "Mid-life crisis" kind of makes the assumption that your going to be around a certain amount of time doesn't it?

Funny, I'm 34 also and my girlfriend jokingly said it was a "midlife crisis" car. I told her I don't believe I'm old enough for a mid life crisis yet. I can't relive my lost youth, because I haven't lost it yet, maybe at 60 I'll buy some little roadster for my real mid life crisis.

I bought it cause it was exactly what I've always wanted, even if I didn't know it until mid 2004

December? Be careful...I ordered my 05 in Nov of 04 and missed the boat. Don't wait too long!!!
You know, I really have been worrying about when to order it, but my local dealer's general manager keeps telling me point blank that the hype is over and I won't have a problem getting a spring '06 delivery if I order in Dec. They have two '05 GT verts (a screaming yellow and triple black) available for immediate delivery but they both have the "upgraded" wheels and shaker 1000, neither of which I want. I'm waiting to see pics of the delayed-availability optional 18s, then I'm going to order it. My fear is that I'll order in Oct/Nov and it'll arrive in the middle of a nice January blizzard. I could just park it in my garage until March or April but then I'd have to keep two cars, insurance and registration going through the winter.....I guess I want the best of both worlds, not sure that it'll work but we'll soon see!

I'm 36 and I have always had some kind of performance car so my friends know better. The people that don't know that shut up when I tell them, "you're only as old as the person you are dating, she's 24".

I got my '05 GT coupe on my 51st Brithday (actually a day before, but why quibble?). I don't think of it as a midlife cirsis car, rather more of a midlife reward for all those years driving family cars.

Most people react "Oh no, Chris bought another car." They're more amazed that I buy cars every couple of years than what I choose to buy. However, even they responded favorably to my decision, and wished me well. Guess I was lucky.

I'm 41 and I never gave my age or status a second thought when I chose to purchase a Mustang. I'd ignore the opinions of people that are not concerned with your happiness. It's just petty jealousy on their part. What are THEY driving? No doubt, a bland, common, thoroughly uninspiring econobox or a trendy SUV.

It's a silly expression. What exactly does "mid-life" crisis mean anyway? If it means wanting to own an awesome car, then I've had a mid-life crisis since the day I got my driver's license!

I'm 42 and I fell in Love with the look as soon as I seen it and knew I just had to have one. For comments 99% positive feed back and it seems that the ladies ask the smart questions ? So are in such aw, I then ask if the want to take it for a spin , then the shock sets in that I would offer and off we go. Then they also get the Fever and want one. Safe driving to all.

I'm 41 and hoping an '06 GT will be my 3rd Mustang.

Is there such a thing as a mid-life crisis? Maybe for some folks, but mostly it's just a simple matter of timing.

I am 40 and this car is certianly my mid life crisis car. I see little point in trying to deny it...

The wife said it was fine as long as I did not get a young hot chick to go with it...

It is my reward for many years of hard work.....

My dealer said he hopes to wish me a Happy 30th by getting me my car (September). Funny, when pictures first started trickling out of the new Mustang, I probably got 35-40 phone calls from family/friends just to know if I'd seen it. One of them already got an '05. I hope to park next to him at a family reunion this fall.

I'm 17 and want a cool car, does that mean I'm having a mid-life crisis?
if not I look forward to my mid-life crisis.

I'm 35 with an '05 GT. I don't care what people think. I bought my car because I would much rather have something that handles decently and that is fun to drive than a cookie cutter SUV. Bottom line is, I have to pay for it, so I'll get what makes me happy. The heck with anyone else who doesn't like it.

So just what is a "crisis" about reaching a certain age, having the means to do just about anything you want and enjoying it?

If that's a crisis, then I'm living one 24/7

And what about you lady's? Is it a midlife crisis for you as well? Just want to hear other people reactions when you tell them.
I'm 49 and female.....when I saw the '05's I HAD to have one! I was at a time in my life where we could afford it, hubby was all for it........soooo, off to the dealership we went......the rest is history. It's also an early 50th B'day present.
Man, do I get the looks from everybody! I love it!! Everybody is so excited when I tell them I have one!! :worship:

I wonder if this guy is ever accused of having his midlife crisis?

"Oldest 05 Driver = 101"

I'm 38 and have wanted one since high school. I work with a bunch of women who said it was a "midlife crisis" car. Then, later, they admit how jealous their husbands were when they told them.
Like most of our group here, we bought it because we like it.

My 2005 is my retirement gift to myself. I ordered it sight almost unseen on June 1, 2004 and took delivery in October. I just turned 64 and retired last Friday. I hope to drive it for a good, long time. Incidentally, it's my 4th Mustang and my first new car in 30+ years!
