2005-2009 Mustang Information on The S197 {Gen1}

if u installed SCT did u go with 87 or 93 octane?

i think i heard somewhere its about 1-2 hp difference? is that true? worth it? $.20 difference in price where i live.

I doubt you would even be able to notice 1-2 hp difference and that wouldn't even be able to prove that on a dyno, there is some error involved in it. Not worth it IMO.

I'd be surprised if it were only a 1-2 HP difference, though. A good guess would be a 10 HP difference, maybe even up to 15 HP. A 6 point jump in octane rating allows a good bit more of timing advance = more power if properly tuned.

Unless you plan on racing the thing or using it as a weekend ride, I wouldn't. As a daily driver, the cheap 87 octane is your friend.

Your big boost comes with the tune with regular, you will feel the difference. If it's a daily driver, that's the best bang for the buck.
Going with the premium tune won't increase torque much and hp maybe 6-8.

if its only 1-2hp, you can easily make that up by shaving 15 or 20lbs off the weight of the car or running a cai.

They said the cars needs a reflash even if you add the Cold air induction to get the full potential.
