Those are very nice power numbers if true...

shows the engine might be a little underrated, not as much as some expected

That would imply 343.75 hp at the crank using the rule of thumb %20 loss through the drivetrain. Sounds like at LOT underrated to me. I'm skeptical of this info, but that would be awesome.

You shouldn't have 20% drivetrain loss - should be more like 15% for a stick, 18% for an auto.

its closer to 20 than you think your numbers are correct for the friction in the trannys but allso you have to consider rearend gear friction allso brake drag just my 2 cent worth but im hopeing that this info is true what post did that come from i must have missed it?

A yellow GT?????? if so 275 H.P. is not impressive, that is 25 less then Ford said it would put out I don't believe ford would get burned again on H.P. like they did with the 99 Cobra. check that dyno again.

It's 275 hp to the rear wheels, which adds up to a decent amount more then the flywheel horsepower advertised by Ford, but I'm more interested in track times then dyno numbers right now, looks promising so far though.

Super Sonic Blue Mustang,

That's the power rating at the rear wheels as opposed to the engine's crankshaft...the '03 and '04 Mach 1s have been dynoed in the neighborhood of 280hp and 300 ft-lb at the rear wheels.

Blue,
The 275hp is a measurement taken at the rear wheels. The 300hp number from Ford is taken right off the motor. A 300 hp motor should only pull around 240-250 at the rear wheels.

Education time:
The 300 H.P. rating is at the crank, not at the rear wheels. A dyno measures the horsepower at the rear wheels after experiencing losses due to the transmission, driveshaft and rear differential. ~18% loss is experienced via parts. So at the dyno 275 HP is equivalent to 335 HP at the crank. Ford could have said 335hp for this engine, but underated it by 35 HP or ~10%.

So its about 15-20 hp underated

315-320hp
335-340hp
@ 15%

Sounds superflamtastic

If you look at the corral posters previous posts, he looks legit. Hopefully he'll post the dyno sheet.

So based on the estimate that is putting out 275 RWHP and based on the weight, would anyone care to take a shot as to what kind of times we can expect out of this stang down the 1/4?

I say mid 13s for the 5 speed manual and high 13s for the 5 speed auto

I used a simple horsepower calculator, and at 3600 lbs including driver weight, it should run around a 13.6-13.7 with 275-280 rwhp. But, that could be high or low, and we won't know... fo... sho... (couldn't resist)... until somebody actually takes it to a track and gets consistent times.
