well, just washed and waxed the car today....since it'll be dirty in about an hour... i thought id take some pics!

man...black cars.... sure is pretty when its clean... but WOW its alot of work!

cmon on you BLACK stang owners out there... lets get some tips!

my biggest tip.. MICROFIBER towels!!... had black cars for years... never a single swirl mark or micromar on the paint.... and if you have a black car... you know EXACTLY what im talking about! swirl marks... AHHHHH

I feel you, my car's best friends are a California Duster, Meguire's Quick Detail spray, and a couple of microfiber towels haha! I keep mine garaged but it still accumulates dust overnight. I just bought a car cover to help in my war against dust and bird bombs!

You gotta really pamper the black cars but its worth it!

Great pixels and what kind of wax did you use btw?

Doesn't get much better than that.
Looks great!
I've had a couple of black vehicles over the years and I know what your going through. That is why I bought TR. I thought it would be easier.
It may be easier than black, but its a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Biggest thing is to not touch the surface very often.
You've got the right idea with the micro fiber towel.
Your biggest killer will be when you wash it.
Make sure that all of your cleaning sponges and what-nots are perfectly clean before you wash.
I wash everything in the wash machine after I wash my car (Do not use any fabric softners or dryer sheets).
Small price to pay to avoid lots of swirl removal down the road.
Rinse car completley. When you think it is rinsed well, do it again.
I spend at least as much time rinsing and getting ready to wash as I do washing. Preperation is key.
I use seperate bucket/sponge for wheels and lower rockers.
One grain of sand will act like a sanding pad in your sponge.
Between washes she will appreciate a caress from a California Duster.

Great tips guys....thanks for the replies and compliments!

I use Maguiers Gold Wax, and Maguiers Quick Detail in between waxing.. pretty much daily.

Im insanely **** about my car wash towels and sponges touching anything dirty...almost to the point of obsessive i think! I to wash all my supplies in the washing machine after every use... and i have a supply of microfiber towels in the trunk along with the detail spray... lol...

it drives my girlfriend CRAZY! She wont even help me anymore... cause im always looking over to make sure that she isnt doing anything that could scratch that black paint! I love her.. but dangit.. i just dont trust her with a rag in her hand anywhere near my "other" girl.

lol.. is that sad?

I have learned the fine art of closing my door without using my hands LOL I cringe when someone touches my car!! Cause then I have to wash THE WHOLE CAR all over again LOL

By the way... I love my California Duster and California Blade.

Stop whining, you picked the best color. What's wrong with a little dirt on the fenders?

I don't know about you but I enjoy driving my car more when it is dirty than when it's clean. It's a carefree feeling.
