A question to all 05 owners. I just visited my 05 at the dealer, I started her up and she idled up to 2,000rpm then slowly came down to 1,100-1,200rpm. Yes the car is cold but still that seems unusual. It seems a bit high. Any thoughts?
Also when I shut her off there seemed to be a slight clunk when I turned her off. I thought it was my imagination and my friend thoght so too, so I starter her up again and it did the same thing when I shut her off. It seems the timing is a bit off or something. I told the dealer to check it out. Anyone else have this problem?

Same here... also when i am driving around then come... say out of first or second to turn or slow down... and put it in neutral(spelling)... it stays at a high rpm for longer than i think it should...?? way longer than i think it should.

Computer controlled idle...it takes it a while to "learn" the correct idle. You can also reset the idle speed, procedure is in the owners manual.
After I hit about 2500 miles it stopped holding the throttle open so long when I let off the gas...darn throttle by wire. It still does not decelerate when you let off the pedal like any every car I have ever driven, in gear or out. Just coasts right along...

It's done it since day one. Has 15K miles now and still does it.
Neither of my '88's were like that.

My 02 does the same thing. In fact when I first got it, I took it in, they replaced the throttle control cable thingy, and it still did it. Then I drove another one and it did it too, so I assumed it was normal. I have gotten used to it, but still dont like it. Thats why I ordered an automatic this time. (Hope it dont do that in the auto).
The high idle hanging is great when you have to room to get on it hard, bring rpms up to 4500, then shift... nice and smoooooth. But city driving cant do that often enough to justify it always hanging high...making shifts jerky... my opinion...

I put an orifice in the idle air circuit of my '04 GT to get the engine RPM to drop faster. I don't know if the new system uses a seperate idle air control or if it does all airflow management with the throttle body stepper motor. Anyody know?

I'm not a service tech....My car is exactly as above, but I'm certain it is computer controlled related to reduced emmisions and is "Normal".
