I put my YMR number on just a "fuzz" crooked and now that is all I see when I walk up to my car. Nobody else can tell it is off but I can...

A QUESTION FOR zaghloul......

I did a Carfax on my old 1993 Reef Blue/Black Mustang LX Notchback
Turns out it was shipped to Kuwait. Ever bump into it? Is their a Mustang Club there?

Sorry to hear that, but I know your pain all to well.

I hope this makes you feel better about yours, heres some pics of my
$14,872 worth of damage!! Yours looks like a fairly easy fix compared to mine. IF the body shop knows what their doing you will never tell it was wrecked. Mine looks way better after the repair.( I paid them an extra grand to repaint the whole car and shoot the stripes. )

+1 I too, been in a similar hit and run. A good Body Shop can indeed make it better than the original and if it is a full panel needing replacement, get it Facotry ordered and make Lemonade out of the Lemons. It will take longer, but when done right, it is very rewarding.

Shame on the bad drivers, it is getting to a point where here in TX one needs to treat 4-way intersections as 4-way stops.

Well I've seen a few around that match the description. However, as I understand the laws here, you can't import a car older than 5 years old. Your car must have been shipped here before '99. There is no Mustang club here, but there is an exceptional level of comradery amongst Mustang drivers. I can never pass another Stang on the road without a flash, rev, salute, or squeal. Its very nice to say the least. There are very few S197's around. Mine is the only Legend Lime vert in town according to the dealer. Used to be a real head turner before she was injured

Thank you all very much. Your support and input has been terrific. I will try to jack her up now and take some photos from below. I hope I'll be able to with my injured hand. If not I might just slide the camera below the car. Will post them later tonight. I hope there isn't any serious damage down there.

Ouch.. so sorry to see these pictures Mike..
Just make sure your insurance won't **** around and insist on agency repairs.
it looks to me you will need a new hood, passenger side fender, and headlight.
some of the bumper and radiator support brakets may be broken too.
it also seems to be limited to the body only, i.e: no suspension damage.

good luck bro.. glad you're alright

Thanks man. You more than most on this forum understand how they drive the Toyota pickups. My insurance is the highest level (diamond) with least hassel and includes in-agency repair, car rental, police report not required, no deductible, and no depreciation on parts. I would think insurance companies here are very similar to Dubai. Do you have any experience with them? Are they a tremendous headache to deal with?

I am glad you're mostly alright though, and I wish you and your Stang a speedy recovery

Glad to hear you're hooked up with a solid insurance company.
They're nothing like that in Dubai.. even renowned international companies are a pain to deal with here.

in here you either have comprehensive or 3rd party insurance.
By default, comprehensive insurance includes agency repair for the first two years only.
i had a stone crack my windsheild last year.. got it all taken care of under insurance, then when i came to renew my insurance this year, they said i had a claim and raised my premium to 10% of the insured value, and added a deductible of 1,500 Dhs per claim (410 USD)

EDIT: oh, and good luck finding an insurer that'd cover your rental while your car is being repaired :S

I am sorry about your car but just wondering why you didn't radio for an apache strike before the impact?

Didn't think you'd see me where? What's awkward? I think you might have me confused with someone else.

She's the cutest stray mommy cat with four adorable kittens. Even though the weather is really hot here they still like to sit on my warm hood. I can't get angry at those lovely creatures though...
