We bought this for our son for his first car.It is in really nice shape but there are some really minor rust spots starting to show thru.It does have a lot of paint chips on the hood that the person we bought it off of touched up.I want to have it sanded down to get rid of the little rust spots before they turn major and have a new paint job put on it.Has anyone had that done and looking for what it might cost roughly?Car has no body damage and no rust holes.

We would also get it painted the same factory color and not looking for a show car paint job.We just don’t want it rusting out because he says he is keeping it for a long long time.

It would depend on where you take it basically. I have had some repairs done on my truck ( cab corners and rocker panels) that at a shop that has 20 employees and they gave me a quote of $6000 but I found a old timer that does body work on the side and in total cost me $700. Easy choice. Dont know where you live or what's around. My guess is you are going back to original color or complete change of color. . Also you looking to do the whole car or just the rust spots and hood. If the paint chips on the hood are not that large or a tone of them a good detail shop can get ride of minor chips or someone who know what they are doing with touch up paint. Not all are the same. As it is said you get what you pay for.
also your son is lucky to have some great parents to get him such a beautiful car. Congrats to him.
