I WANT A GT!

Man, if you are only 15 and can afford a GT on your own money, not stuff that has been given to you I will be soooooo jealous I will kill myself. Not really, I'll just go for a ride in my GT and still scratch my head as to how you can afford one

That would depend. Are you a diligent driver? Do you know how to keep your foot out of the floor board?
A GT is great if you can afford it, but can you afford speeding tickets?
Not saying you would speed, I don't know you. Just saying these are questions you should ask even if you can afford a GT. I knew people when I was 15/16 that killed themselves because they could afford a nice fast car but had the maturity of a 2 year old when it came to driving it.

Gotta agree. The GT is a great car and also a death trap for people that have no driving experience. Now way in he!! would I let a 16 year have a mustang for thier first car, especially a GT. Now don't start telling me that you have lots of driving experience cause you don't, not at 15. Glad you can get one, wish someone bought mine for me so am I jealous, darn skippy. You must have been born with a silver spoon to afford the insurance, then again let me guess, insurance is not going to be in your name.
As for GT vs V6, don't start another one of those threads.

Agreed, 15 = No GT for you!!! Seriously, it'd be a bad choice. You'd be much better off with front wheel drive until you learn how to properly control a car. Not knocking you, just looking out for you.. and everyone else's safety.

I couldn't agree more. When I was 15, I was so bad and wreckless I flipped my parents minivan. Long story. My opinion is that you don't have the driving experience to drive this car. I know I sure didn't at 15.

I agree on the driving experience thing. I am 25 and this is my first sports/ rear wheel drive car. It will take some getting used to.
If you do end up getting the car, no doubt in my mind you will jump on it, everyone with a GT does no and then, but be carefull. Rear wheel drive cars are a lot harder to control and you really have to know what to do when you do start to slide because it will happen.

I got similar comments from people like your getting here when I first bought my Gt. Granted at that time it was a 2002 and I wasn’t 15/16 but I was 19. Even now that I’m 21 people still had similar comments to say about me buying a 2005 Gt. The way I see it if afford the car on your own, then your probably responsible enough to drive it.

I have yet to meet anyone under the age of 20 that can afford to buy a Mustang on "their own" with no cash ever given to them. Heck, even my wife was spoiled by her grandparents when she was growing up. It is completely different feeling when you can buy a car like this with money you earned by working hard, rather than someone saying you come up with $5,000.00 and I'll pay the rest. Not saying that this is the case here.......

I don't agree with that statement. I can afford to by an AK47, but that doesn't mean I know how to use it properly.

I say if you can buy the car without anyones help then go for it, but if someone else is footing the bill or even helping you. You will be much better off getting something else.
It's been my experance that if you are paying for it you tend to take a lot better care of it. So some night when you and your buddy's are out and messing around, you will stop to think about what ifs a little more.
I've own a lot of new trucks and had a couple older mustangs, but this is the first new car I've bought for myself (at 15 I probably would have killed myself in one of these cars).
