I thought it would never happen to me, but....crash!
I rear ended someone today I won't go into details, but my fault. Van in front stopped and I was traveling about 10 - 12 km/h. I need a new front bumper skin and the **** bracket on the headlight broke. Luckily the chin spoiler is untouched along with the grill, fender and hood.
All in all I got off lucky. I pushed my knee into the bumper on the damaged side and the undamaged side and I don't think the material underneath is damaged at all. I will have to pull it off to see.
I just got my SHR louvers installed yesterday and the car was looking sweet. Well, still sweet, but scarred.
Where should I look for a factory bumper skin? I would prefer a used one. Problem is my car is Mineral Grey, so only one year on that colour. I need a passenger side headlight too, ideas?

Haha, sorry for laughing, but the pic of your son is too funny.
I would think you still should be able to find a take off somewhere. If not, a different color might be easier to find and be a little cheaper to offset the cost of stripping the paint.

That picture w/ your son is awesome. It's good that you can keep a sense of humor during this, I don't know that I could.
I've seen Brenspeed w/ new take off covers before, I'd check there first.

Sorry to see this happen. I know that Saleen sells take of GT front fascias. Also newtakeoff.com as front fascias, painted, but not in Mineral Gray. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I do keep a sense of humour, but it really did suck to hurt my pride and joy. Maybe it was karma for smashing out the side windows in favour of installing SHR side louvers the day before...."Christine??"
I have a tax return coming in the next few days that will cover the cost of both vehicles. I was hoping to put that into the supercharger fund but not this year. I have a car show in May that I have to get the car fixed in time for.
One thing that is amazing is the feeling from the impact. Though very slow, it felt like I got punched in the nose. You know that funny smell feeling you get when you get hit in the head hard? It was like that. It has been many years since I was in an accident, around 15, and that one was a major one back then. I decided not to use my one "free" accident coverage with my insurance on this latest one and save that for a "good one".

Ouch. glad you are ok. If you hit at 10mph I would say there is a VERY good chance you are going to have to change the foam impact insulators (there are two under the bumper held on with push pins) as well as the steel impact bar.

Not 10 mph, 10 km/h. It was about 6 mph. I know about the foam impact insulators, I have to pull the cover off to have a look. That is why I pushed the bumper in on the good and the bad side with my knee to see if there was a larger gap on the damaged side and they both seemed the same.

Richard,
Sorry to hear about the damage to your Stang. You still got your ST? I bought an '07 GT/CS last year. Saw the 'Cop on my Back', and it rang a bell. There's a few of us Sport Trac owners over here...

I am just waiting for the estimate from the van I ran into to decide if I am going to pay for it or go through my insurance. I will know by the weekend.
My wife was not too happy when I said "I had a little accident", but my 6 year old daughter said "that's okay Dad, it is just a car" I thought that was a pretty mature statement for a 6 year old.

I have been thinking about that and I am torn. I don't like to be a "clone". If I am going to want to look like a Gt500, then I want to save up and buy a real GT500. I have always been that way. Having said that, those front ends do look nice! Where would one fine one of those?
