I need your help finding a part...

Hey guys,

I am trying to buy a set of Halos for my car: 2006 Mustang. However, this is proving very difficult.

AmericanMuscle has a set of SMOKED halos that have the right color of the halo I want. But all they offer is smoked. I don't want those. I want a regular black housing headlight with Halos. http://www.americanmuscle.com/smoked...ghts-0509.html
AM use to sell the standard ones but for some reason they stopped.

I found a few on other venders, but they don't have pictures of them on or installed or anything. For example, here is Cjpony: http://www.cjponyparts.com/halo-head...-2009/p/HLA52/
Now I am not really sure, but these don't look like anything close to what AM has.

I have found a few on ebay, but I am not sure of the quality, the brightness or how the color really is. Examples...http://www.ebay.com/itm/370661999473...84.m1423.l2649

http://www.ebay.com/itm/400304911933...84.m1423.l2649

If anyone knows where I can get a good set that look like AM that are not smoked or has a set they bought and never installed, please let me know. I would like to get this done ASAP.

Thank you for your time.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not interested in the Smoked halo lights we carry, as of late. I'm going to look into this further for you, in hopes to find the reasoning behind why we stopped carrying the clear lens halo lights! I'm also going to put in a product suggestion to bring the light your after back into our facility. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the suggestion and best of luck on your search for now! Please let me know if you change your mind on the Smoked headlights or have any questions on any other products you see on our site.

-Dan

Ebay might be your only bet. That's not necessarily a bad thing though. I bought my headlights on ebay, and I haven't had any issues. Although I wouldn't get the ones you're looking at. Look for CCFL halos...The LED halos aren't very bright at all.

I bought mine off of Ebay a few years ago. Only problem is condensation once in a while.

I forgot to mention that. Be sure you seal them, before you install them. That goes for *ANY* lights...Not just from Ebay.

I have an HID conversion kit installed. Those bulbs are significantly longer than the stock bulbs. Some of the housings have a cap in front. Has anyone had an issues with the bulb touching the cap or seriously reducing the light?

Also, I have never done this seal step. What exactly do I need to buy/do?

I'm guessing none of them are made for HID's? If not, they're gonna look horrible. The light output will be reduced simple due to the fact that the light will be scattered everywhere.

Sealing them isn't really hard at all. I believe I used a high temp silicone caulk type stuff from Autozone.

Oh, I need to clarify. I drive most of the time with my fog lamps as my night lamps as I am in the city and very rarely need the light given from the HIDs (use to live in the country, then moved). So the halo would be on all the the time as I use the fog lamps as daytime lamps as well. So the only time they would be washed out by the HIDs is when I am in the middle of no where and need the extra light. Then I am ok with the halos disappearing.

With LED's the halos will barely be visible, even if the headlights are off. So go with CCFL, if possible.
