Ok, here's the problem.
I have wanted a Stang since I was 4 years old (33 now), finally convinced wife I was a good enough boy to get one. (hint: let her drive it first!) Ordered my stang on 11/15/04 from a local small dealer. They told me 10 to 12 weeks. Seeing it was a small dealer with a hot car I said OK. Called in every two weeks, salesman said it was built at the end of '04 just waiting on the IUP. Week 12 comes no car. Come to find out, the car order was never sent in till Feb 12th when the car was suppose to be here the 15th of Feb. I told dealer I was about to order from a larger dealer three hours away then he gave me a vin# and said it would be here 2 to 3 weeks tops. Called today, they say the car isn't even built and won't be till March 28th, and with delivery probably won't get it till mid-April, maybe.
A larger dealer in Columbus said they can have one to me no problem in the same time period, mid-April. Problem is, they said I can't get the IUP I ordered back in NOV, cause they aren't putting them on the V6's for awhile. (bogus!)
Now do I continue to wait with the dealer I have now, or do I say the heck with MY Color and get the car before next winter (at this rate).
If I do go without MY Color, does anyone know where I could get a kit to turn my guages blue which is the only color I wanted anyway?
I know this was long but I had to give the backstory. Actually that was only half of it!

Thanks

First off, you can replace the standard gauge cluster with an IUP version and then I think you have to add the buttons to control it. 05stangkc has done it. Cost over $400 dollars.

However, if you're willing to travel (plane tickets are pretty cheap in the middle of the week) I don't see why you couldn't find a V6 to meet your specs SOMEWHERE. What are ALL your specs and which of those are MUST HAVE?

As for the dealer, drop him and never go back.

Here's what I ordered:

V6 Premium
Sonic Blue
Dark Charcaol
IUP
EUP or ESP
Traction COntrol
Anti theft

Traction control, Anti theft, Sonic Blue, Dark Charcoal and premium pkg a must. Really wanted IUP since I heard it was an option and it was a big selling point to wife in getting car. Exterior pkg, wanted spoiler, but like the duck tail now that I've seen one.

Uh you forgot the second most important option (after engine size)
Manual or Auto?
I'll start looking.

I think you have to stay with your current dealer. You've got a vin and a build date. If you order one today, and if it gets pulled tomorrow it gets an early april build date. That puts you further out than you already are. The only reason I can see to switch dealers is better price or one currently on the lot at the same price.

I'd run away from the dealership, although some might say I'm bitter from my experience. My delear lied to me and that was something I could not live with, there was nothing to stop them from lying in the future. It was a BIG mess.
