Whoops, I guess I better get back on topic.

The car just looks the part. But it doesn't stop at the looks. It can back it up 90% of the time. In most cases, if it can't, your opponent spent quite a bit more $ to take you on. The car is a performance bargin with looks that kill as icing for the cake.

I was in a parking lot yesterday picking up a sandwich and a guy in a minivan pulling a small boat (on a trailor) yells to me "Hey, are those the original rims??" So I went over to talk to him. I have the bullits on my car which I feel are some of the nicest of any of the offered wheels from the factory. To sum it up, the car is an '05 and the guy was very complimentary. I almost always hear positive comments wherever I go. It's not that I'm looking for them, but they come none the less.

1991?? Wow.... I was driving an IROC in 1991! I love my S197 because it has the best of both worlds: Old skool styling cues with new skool technology........ahhhh who am I kidding..... It's the blower....thats why I love it. Love is roasting the tires through 3rd gear.....and still winning the race.

Everytime I get in my car and start it up, all my problems just go away!!! I could have the worst day, but once I get in my car and go for a spin, just hearing the exhaust, and rowing through the gears is just a delight! I never thought I'd own a car like this, but dreams do come true. When people stop you while your in your car to tell you how nice it is, and ask questions, thats just the topping on the cake. I'm like a proud father of his new baby!

Love the way it looks. (By the number of comments I get, so do many others.)

Love the power and love the ride. Love the way it sounds.

Maybe because it was built on a Monday, but after 5000 miles, I'm disappointed with the sloppy clutch, rear end clunk and dash rattles. If any of it gets any worse, there's a trade in my future.

It's the first car I've owned in 40 years (yes, old f@rt here too) that makes me feel like I don't know how to drive a stick. (Yes, I do know. )

Those would be my only complaints too. I bet I'd shift like a pro in any other car because I basically taught myself on this obnoxious clutch.

Any tips you can share? Just seems that it doesn't engage smoothly. Combined with revs that don't drop between shifts, I am having one heck of a time trying to impress passengers...or myself!

Well I did say "in any other car", but how I try to smooth it out is by changing the speed with which I let the clutch back out. I slow down releasing the pedal as I get into the active engagement zone and then really slow down in the last 2 inches of pedal travel, easing the two plates fully together. The whole process takes about 2-3 seconds. If I really want to go smooth I use a little more gas to kind of cast the car forward a little bit and then push the clutch in immediately after to capitalize on that forward momentum. That said, the clutch is grabbier on certain days than others and I still get a lot of clunks now and then.

If it weren't for the skitzo clutch, the clunky tranny, and the sloppy diff, I'd call this car just about perfect.

I guess im one of the youngest, in 1991 I was two and probably just learning to walk, no less drive. Anyway I love my car because, well Im not sure i can pick just one reason. Its just an awesome car to have, plus it brings compliments from people everywhere I go. Everytime I walk away from the car I find myself turning around and staring at it, it looks **** good even at almost 2 years old now. This car has opened me up to the car hobby world, and Ill probably never stop loving cars now.
