I hate Traction Control

So, reading through the 05 owner's manual, I came across these dreadful words:
The Traction Control system will automatically turn on every time the ignition is
turned OFF and ON.
So, how do we get it to automatically turn OFF? Is this an easier electrical fix, or chip mod? Has anyone done it before on older cars?

I know in VW's, we had to place a diode between to wires to cause the system to turn off after turning on the ignition key.
Until someone gets a car in their hand, and are will to test and experiment, you will have to press the traction control button after starting the car to turn it off.

Or you could just push the button. Traction Control is there to make your car safer. Unless you want to go powersliding to work or are eager to introduce your brand new Mustang to a telephone poll on wet roads, I suggest you leave it like it is.

Why don't you just leave it on? :P We've heard that the TC is way less annoying than in previous models. And if the road is wet or something, it might save you from an accident. You just have to push that TCS button after you get in the car. I mean, come on, you get in the car, put the key in the ignition, start the engine, then you switch on the radio, you adjust the temperature, you turn the A/C on - whats the problem? Is that half a second of your time really THAT expensive?

Its part of the ritual....
1) Hold clutch
2) turn key
3) release hand brake
4) turn off traction control
5) engage first
6) drive
There are ways around it, but why bother...its as much a hastle to turn on the lights or open the garage door...
...in other words, not much.
The one I like turning off is beltminder.
I don't need an annoying beep reminding me for my seatbelt while I'm waiting in the driveway....as soon as the car is in motion the belt is on anyway...

For $60 I'll simply turn it off. But on more than one occasion, I forgot to turn it off (when it was raining), and it helped, so don't be too quick to turn it off.

There has been several occasions where I had wished my 94 GT had traction control, nothing like an accident or anything just slick roads and I live in Southern California! Hit the button and that's it, no big deal! Frankly, I think it is just another feature that makes the Mustang a good buy for the buck!

Look, while I appreciate your concern, I didn't ask for people's opinions on whether or not I should mod it...I'm going to mod it. I've been driving rear wheel drive vehicles in winter through a foot of snow for more than 10 years now, and only once did I put a car in the ditch, and that was because I was screwing around. Not to mention that my 05 will NOT see the snow.
I don't want, or need, TC.
Thanx to kn7671 for an actual answer. I just thought maybe someone would have a wiring diagram for me (yes, I know how to follow them). I think I'll ask this q in the 94-04 forum.

I could be wrong, but isn't traction control a purchable option, meaning that you could just opt not to purchase the traction control option....when I ordered my 05, the dealer called a day later because he forgot to ask me if I wanted traction control...I told him no since I have owned 3 mustang without traction control and I did not see a need for it.

Well, the post wasn't "Do you think I'm a good enough driver to need traction control?" It was about setting the default to off.
Oh, and I effing hate people waving their fingers in my face, so watch yourself bucko.
FWIW, I didn't want to have to get into this, but there have been NUMEROUS cases of TC causing people to get INTO dangerous situations instead of OUT of them. The same goes for ABS, which I will also be disabling. If you want/need it, fine. I don't.
I don't want to have to worry about ABS in the middle of my 360, or worry about TC when I am powersliding (and yes, Brad, I do powerslide to work).
I truly wish that the TC/ABS systems were options on the GT, but they are not. Guess I'll just have to wait until I get my hands on a Chilton.
I already know how to permanently disable both of these systems, but I simply want to change their DEFAULT state to "off" instead of "on."
