Don't feel bad, here in Pennsylvania, it's anti gravity for rocks. On my daily driver (grand am) rocks float around like leaves - 2 huge window cracks in 2 months :bang:

Ca. drivers can't drive, especially during rain, they seem to just flip out at the slightest sprinkle.
I'm a CA driver and take exception to your lumping me in with the soccer Moms !!!

I live in California, but I am not a Cali driver, matter of fact, I learned to drive on Snow and Ice. Drivers here in California are morons for the most part.

BTW, This is the only state where I've had to dodge washing machines more than once! I've dodged three here.

Well that puts a new spin on driving huh?

Rick,

Sorry to see. I feel for ya. My car has been hit by stones and 2 x 4s while driving the NJ Turnpike.

Washing Machines? 2X4s? Holy Mother, I guess I cant complain about the one door ding I have got, eh?

I used to drive our freeways 30 miles one way twice a day. I put a lot of miles on her then, and the rocks are the WORST. I have got to get a couple chips in my windshield fixed... ARGH!

one of the local radio stations down here keep track of all the wierd stuff that ends up on the freeways in the traffic reports, they call it something like "another ladder on the freeway segment" since it appears that ladders are the most common, but have had stuff like surf boards, couches, oh and I am trying to remember the wierdest one Ive heard, but it was so long ago, all I can recall is that it made a couch sound normal....darn, Ill think of it.

Richard, its Star 100.7 that does it in the morning. The weirdest one I have heard is a bathtub.

I think they should make a new reality show, featuring Californians driving in snow, I would watch that one.

I was driving to winnipeg with my friends once for a green day concert and I hit a semi tire on the highway. It was night and it came out of no where. I was so pissed. I stoped and checked over my car. It was fine from what I could see. I looked in the morning and had a better look. it was alright. but if I hadn't had a bra on the front. I prob would have had some nice marks on the front of it. Stuff like that just pisses me off

I know what you mean. I have a few chips in my paint from stones flying at the car when I am on the highway. Really gets on my nerves. Fortunately I had a rental car yesterday. On my way to work there was a truck ahead of me on the highway. All of a sudden his tailgate opens and what's inside. A load of gravel. Tons poured out onto the highway. I swerved to avoid him but the front of the car is all dinged up. 3 cracks in the windshield and a busted headlight. Brought the car back to the rental agency today and all I could say was "Boy, I sure am glad I paid for that extra insurance". Their jaws dropped when they looked at the car.

The reason So Cal freeways are so treacherous after it rains is simple: you can't see the danger!

It's just a little rain right? NOPE.

When it doesn't rain for months at a time tire dust and fluids build up. Then add water and it's like driving on a thin film of graphite and oil. Add drivers who commonly driving 85 mph under normal conditions (and tailgate, and weave through traffic and are always in a hurry) it's a recipe for an accident. It's more like Black ICE than snow.

I live intown, in San Diego. After the first rain I don't take the freeways unless absolutely necessary. If I do, I allow as much space between cars as possible. People here should be more cautious, they mention it on the weather every time it rains, but do they listen?????

I'm from Minnesota, at least you can see the stuff!
