Not trying to be a pain, but I work in the sales dept of a large insurance company and I found out through a monthly call audit from a supervisor that the ticket will infact still be on the MVR. I made a small error during a quote I was doing where someone asked if they took traffic school for the ticket if we'd then remove the ticket in question. I told him yes and was told during my call audit that the answer was pointed out to me is no. It'll save him the points, but the ticket will still be on his MVR when we run it. I didn't realize that myself and I've been working here for a year now. So, although we go through extensive training before we take our first call, they either never covered it or I somehow missed it.
Maybe its different in Ohio but here in CA If the court allows you to attend traffic school, the DMV will record this "dismissal" on both your confidential and public driving records. Though your insurance company will know you were cited and attended traffic school, they can not legally raise your rates. Insurance rates can only be increased if a guilty conviction or at-fault accident is recorded on your public record. A dismissal, whether recorded publicly or confidentially, can never be used to increase your rates.

I have gone to traffic school 4 times...and have never had my insurance raised. I did however, NOT go to traffic school for one ticket...and my rate went up.

ok before this gets ugly...maybe its different in Ohio than here in Cali, but here it keeps it off the record and the insurance companies can not see it, I have several friends that work for Gieco and it doesnt show up out here.

I guess it must vary by state. Either that, or our auditors are wrong. Lol.

That may vary by state??? I ran my MVR the other day cause I've had 3 tickets in the last year... but the last was about 6 mths ago. Got 2 torn up by friends of friends and never got confirmation that they actually were torn up and the third I went to school for. I was worried that they may not have actually gotten torn up soooo I wanted to check and see if I had a license. None of the 3 were on my MVR and no points on my license. Also, just got new insurance, new company and the only thing that showed on my MVR thru them was a not at fault (not my fault... rear ended) accident 2 years ago.

Anybody know if a ticket for no seat-belt will affect your insurance in Texas? I don't think it's a moving violation and shouldn't raise my rate, but safe is always better than sorry!
